I'm young in life and might not know much about it, but I do know God loves us and thats why..... I'M A MORMON!!!

About Me

My last name is Guzman hence "Da Goose" is a recent nickname I have picked up. I am the oldest of 2. My younger brother means the world to me and is my world. In his 8 years he has taught me a lot and continues to do so. Between him and my German Shepherd my days fly by. I was born in Chile and have spent the latter 2/3 of my life in the United States of America. First I resided in Miami, Florida then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Currently I am in Garden City, Kansas being a MISSIONARY!!! (We'll explain what that is a little further down the road. I love sports, primarily FUTBOL! Lifting weights is a passion of mine that I hope to pick up again soon. Cars and Motorcycles are my passion. I have pursued some Mechanical Engineering and Business in College and it was fantastic. I have had many jobs from being a detailer at a car wash to sheet metal to real estate to managing a law firm. I would love to jump out of a plane! With a parachute on of course. Or even take the occasional jump on the dirt bike to get my adrenaline fix for the day! However none of that comes close in comparison with experiencing the UNDENIABLE FEELINGS of the HOLY GHOST (Spirit of God) which you can only fully experience in the Lord's one and only true church. Of which I have a deep and abiding testimony that THIS is HIS church and kingdom on the earth again led by a true living prophet chosen by HIM and of that I know through prayer by getting my answer straight from GOD!

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon? Well why not? There is NOTHING BAD about it. The biggest misconceptions are that we have more than one wife, we worship a guy named Joseph Smith, and we have our own bible aka "The Book of Mormon." I am here to say that none of that is true. So again I ask why not, even more so if being a “Mormon” brings you closer to God than you have ever been before. Bold statement right? Well that is why we invite people to meet with the missionaries and learn more to see if that statement is true or not. I personally testify that it is. I know it is because I have lived it and put it to the test. I love being a “Mormon,” it is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I love the gospel because of how true it really is. Many of us have questions, concerns, doubts. How many people or places out there have the answer? Not many. We are in a world of ever increasing technology and more rapid “on demand” things than ever. Some of the deepest questions at times seem to fall by the way side now. Like where did we come from? Where are we going? Why are we here? Is there a God? How can a belief in Jesus Christ help me? Is there life after death? Why does God allow evil to occur? Does God know me? Does God answer prayers? How can I find peace and joy? How can my family be happier and more united? WHICH church IS the TRUE CHURCH of GOD? Yes there can only be ONE TRUE CHURCH. It is how it has always been. The best example being when Jesus Christ was on the earth, it was either His way or the way of everybody else such as the Sadducees and the Pharisees. Another important point being for God to be God he can NOT lie. So that being said you cannot have God teach religion “A” and then expect to have a person from religions “A” ”B” and ”C” all get into heaven because religion “A” lives differently than religions “B” and “C” and God instituted only ONE way to live and ONLY by that way can we make it into the kingdom of God. Well all that and more is why I AM A MORMON!

How I live my faith

So here we are what is a "missionary?" A missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints goes out and teaches everyone about what we believe. First and foremost we believe in God the father and his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost (Spirit of God) as 3 distinct beings and as one in purpose. (Matthew 3:13-17). As missionaries we also invite EVERYONE to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost (Spirit of God), and enduring to the end. First step is having faith in Christ. Without faith in knowing that he lives you cannot have a testimony of the other 4 things and cannot progress. Jesus Christ has been and will be the only perfect person to have walked the earth so we all have need to be repent and then be baptized for a remission of our sins to be able to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:1-5). Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost is essential to complete the ordinance of baptism. It is also essential that it be done the correct way and by proper authority (Acts 8:14-20). Then after all this it is crucial that we “endure to the end” because if we do not continue in obedience to the Lord then Baptism and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost was pointless. It is important to have all this done with proper authority as well, meaning from God. So that is how I currently live my faith, by going around and sharing this message with everyone alongside other missionaries and members of the church. I do this because if heaven is supposed to be a happy place then I want to be there with everyone I possibly can and not just me, myself and I. Alongside this people wonder if we are paid, the answer is NO. No missionary in the church gets paid in fact NOBODY in this church from the prophet all the way down will ever get paid for anything it is all done out of service and love to the Lord!

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Authority: the power to determine, adjudicate, or otherwise settle issues or disputes; jurisdiction; the right to control, command, or determine. So in example a police officer has the AUTHORITY to pull us over and give us a ticket or arrest us depending on the crime. Also when a pregnant woman is about to go into labor why does she not go to McDonald's or Burger King or Taco Bell to do it? They do NOT have the AUTHORITY. A hospital and the gynaecologist have the AUTHORITY to deliver the baby because the gynaecologist has gone to years of medical school and is now authorize by the hospital who is certified to meet the needs of a woman giving labor. Same CONCEPT with BAPTISM! You absolutely can NOT just go online or to a college for religion and then print off a certificate that "authorizes" you to BAPTIZE. This is important because just as the fast food restaurant has NO AUTHORITY to deliver a baby neither does someone who is NOT ordained of GOD (John 15:16;19-20)! I testify that Joseph Smith was indeed ordained of God and his beloved son Jesus Christ because I have prayed multiple times and received an answer multiple times! Verses 19 and 20 in the previously quoted scripture are worth reading because they have been fulfilled with Prophets in the church and the organization. So AUTHORITY is REQUIRED because otherwise it is NOT valid in the eyes of the LORD and we do want ALL people to make it to the Celestial Kingdom of the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:40-41; Matthew 13:43) Show more Show less
