Hi I'm Josh

I grew up in Utah. I love music & martial arts. I work in youth corrections, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am a 35 year old husband and father of two children (1 girl & 1 boy), and my wife and I will have our 10 year anniversary in October of 2012. Besides being a full-time husband and father, I am also a full-time student. When I am not engaged in the above mentioned roles, I love spending time with my family and teaching them the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love music, and I have been playing the drums since I was 11 years old. I love martial arts as well. I love to have fun, and I love being funny. I love doing "outdoorsy" things, however, I am not able to do much because of my other roles in life. I am not a superhero; I'm just your "average Joe" trying to do the right things, while teaching my family how to do the right things as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of Christs true church all my life; however, I have also gone through my own conversion to His gospel. My conversion came while I was serving as a missionary in the Northwestern United States. It was then that I came to know that the Book of Mormon is true, and is actually "Another Testament of Jesus Christ." This book not only backs up the Bible, but clarifies certain points as well. It was during this time as a missionary that I was introduced to other religions teachings, and since this time I have actually studied some of these religions teachings and beliefs. My time as a missionary also strengthened my testimony of my own faith, and I would like to share that at this time: I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and that we have living prophets today that receive revelation from our Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ. I know that if we listen to the revelation given to these prophets that we will come closer to God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Chirst lived and died, and that He lives again - that He is a real person of flesh and bone. I know that he is the living Son of the living God. I know that the Atonement is real, and it is through Christ's atoning sacrifce that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ again. I know that through Christ's atonement we can live together forever as families, and that our family relationships do not need to end at death. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and complete, and that it has everything that Christ had in His church when He was on the earth. I am a Mormon of my own free will and choice, and it is because I am a Mormon that I know these things to be true and real.

How I live my faith

I am very active in my faith, and live it everyday. I read my scriptures and pray daily, and attend my church meetings frequently (both on Sundays and at other times as needed). Not only do I do these things on an individual basis, but we do them as a family. Doing these things keeps us spiritually stronger as a family. I try to do the best I can in visiting other members (and non members) in our area and helping them with their physical and spiritual needs. I know that doing these things brings me closer to the Savior and helps me become the man that he wants me to be.
