Hi I'm Garrett

I'm a runner, I'm a swimmer, I'm a weightlifter, and I'm a mormon!

About Me

I'm finishing my senior year at Layton High School, where I am president of the Senior Class. I recently completed my first full marathon, and it was a party. I love exercising and being active. Weightlifting is one of my favorite things to do as well, and I love to be able to exercise with my friends and family and have fun being with them. My family is very important to me, and I love them more than words can explain! I'm currently preparing to serve a full-time mission for a period of two years in Quito, Ecuador.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. Both of my parents came from families that are part of the church as well. This means the challenge for me was staying active in the church rather than becoming converted to it. Up until just a couple of years ago, I relied on my parents knowledge of the church. Then I decided to start reading the scriptures, and since then I have used the power and knowledge in those books to build my own testimony of the gospel. I do know for a fact that the church is true. Jesus the Christ died for us and atoned for our sins, because of his willingness to follow God's will, we can live for eternity with our families. God loves us, if you are unsure of that, pray. He will answer. Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and he restored the true church to the Earth.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings and tuesday youth activities every week. Although it may be hard to get out to them every week, I always find a way to attend because the environment is so uplifting and it makes me feel stronger as a member. I study the scriptures and words of the prophets daily, and put them to use in my daily life.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Garrett
As we spend time in the scriptures, we will quickly gain a love for them. The scriptures give us guidance for our daily lives, and enable us to answer personal questions we may have. From personal experience and study, I know the scriptures are true. From reading them, I have received such blessings as a sense of security about my life and the future, a joyful outlook on life, and a more developed relationship with Heavenly Father and His son.
