Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in California and I make art.

About Me

I'm an artist, trying to make my way in the world. My hobbies are pretty long and extensive, I like piano, any sort of art anything from stained glass to laser-cuts, I like going for walks and checking out the beach. I'm currently living in Silicon Valley, which is a pretty great place to be--best food I've ever had, and I enjoy living where technology is made.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I've prayed about it, I've studied it, and I know it's true. Early in life I had that experience, and I'm thankful for it. It's helped me get through High School ,through College, and through this point in my life where getting paid is difficult. Knowing that God believes I am worth so much, despite the fact that maybe I haven't accomplished all I thought I'd do at 25 gives me the esteem to keep moving forward with that same drive I did early on. God lives and want us to have the blessings in store for us. Christ makes it possible to get there, and I am a Mormon because I believe this is his true gospel.

How I live my faith

I am single, so I attend a Singles Ward. Basically it's so I can hang out with other Mormons my age, and perhaps one day meet one good enough to marry. Until I reach that point (Because at the moment I am in no hurry) it's great to see people every Sunday going through the same struggles I am, renting apartments, trying to find a job, breaking up, dating, and keeping the faith throughout all of that. While my own scripture study, prayer, and commitments are core to me living the Gospel, having that ward with me is like a life raft. We're all in it together.
