Hi I'm Samantha Larsen

I'm a Mormon. I great up in southern Idaho and am now working and going to college.

About Me

I just graduated high school in 2011. I'm now working for an internet company and am going to school online. I'm living at home and saving money. I love learning new things. I decided to learn the piano, so i did, along with the guitar. Now i'm learning how to use a compound bow. I love art and music, photography, writing and reading are things i like to do in my spare time along with many other things. I love to spend time with my family and friends. I have a theme for my life that I've chosen to live by its EMBRACING LIFE. Embrace life and live it to the fullest and live without regrets but live your life in a way that is honorable. I embrace change, change in environment and friends, but also change in myself. I strive to be the person that God knows i can become so that I can be an instrument in his hands to do good unto others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and I grew up with the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. But my conversion came slowly and over time as I gained experiences with gospel principles. As I've been obedient to the gospel principles God has expanded my mind and has given me understanding and perspective on the principles and doctrines of the gospel. There was a time when I wasn't as obedient as I should have been, and my testimony was weak, but there was a turning point and it was powerful. I felt the power of the Atonement in my life. At that moment, I learned so much and from that moment. I know with every fiber of my being that God exists and Christ is His holy son, I cannot deny it. I know that because of Christ, I can be clean and I can return to live with my Heavenly Father again. I know that he loves each and every one of us, and he knows us by name. I've experienced it. I know the plan of salvation is real. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I took Moroni's promise and i prayed to God and asked if it was true. I received and answer and I know it is true. There is a great power that comes from the pages of that book, a healing and protection. I know it can heal and strengthen broken and weak spirits and hearts. I have found great peace from the messages it holds. I have a firm testimony of prayer. I know that God hears and answers our prayers. He wants to help us, he wants us to talk to him. I continue to follow the gospel because of my testimony. I've had many experiences where the Holy Ghost confirms truths to me. I cannot deny these truths I've learned. By living the gospel i have experienced great peace in the mists of life's storms when all about me was dark. I've experienced the goodness of God. There is a protection that one feels when they have the spirit with them. I've felt what it's like to have that protection, and I always want to live in a way that His spirit may stay with me. So that I may always be near to Him.

How I live my faith

I am active in my singles ward. I am the first counselor in the Relief Society, which is for all of the sisters in our ward. In this calling I plan out all the Relief Society lessons for Sundays. Where I am in the Relief Society presidency, I see myself as a leader and look for opportunities to serve my brothers and sisters on earth, to lend a helping hand or to comfort those in need. I also visit sisters in my ward, i visit those who i am assigned to along with going and visiting less active sisters.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Samantha Larsen
Our bodies are sacred and are a temple. God gave us our bodies and are a great gift to us. With out bodies we are able to learn and understand more than if we didn't have them. The Word of Wisdom is a law given to us about how to care for our bodies, our health. In the Word of Wisdom we are given guidance on what is good and bad for our bodies. If we pollute our bodies with things such as tobacco and alcohol than our spiritual senses are weakened and it damages our physical bodies. Things such as tobacco and alcohol are known to destroy lives. God wants us to be happy and learn and we can't do that if we are harming our bodies. Show more Show less
