Hi I'm Jamey

I am an American. I am going to be a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a student going to college. I have practiced and played the piano for about ten years, and I have played the viola for about eight years. I enjoy playing video games and playing cards. I am an Eagle Scout. I like listening to rock and roll and alternative style music. I am proficient in the ways of mathematics and science, and plan on being a chemical engineer (way down the road). Besides being proficient at math, I simply enjoy the beauty of it. I am currently serving my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and am grateful to have that opportunity to bless other people's lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church. I have personally felt God's Hand in my life, not on a superficial level, but deep within myself, where not even logic could argue. I have seen the transformation that has occurred within me as I continue to grow within this church and grow under God's supervision. Even when I stumble and make mistakes, He has supported me and helped me get back up. On a level deeper than I can express in words, I know that this is the true church. I am living proof of it.

How I live my faith

I am an Eagle Scout and served throughout the community in the numerous smaller service projects. My Eagle Scout Project was the large service project I organized. We created a bunch of wooden garbage can containers on a wildlife reserve to help keep the place clean and look a little nicer. I have taught some of the classes in our Sunday School, even if I am not the greatest at doing so. I bear my testimony in church when I feel prompted to do so.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I absolutely believe that there is a living prophet on the Earth today. Just as in olden times, God continues to call prophets. That is because He loves all of His children; He loved those in the times of Moses, and He loves all of us now. I know that God only wants what is best for us, and He tells us what we need to know through His prophet. We have the opportunity to hear from the prophet of God every six months during the General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and we will be blessed to heed God's counsel given there. I know because I have applied those things into my life, and have seen the blessings that have been reaped from doing so. Show more Show less
