Hi I'm Natalie

I grew up in Lee's Summit with the best family one could ask for.... and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a suburban girl with a city heart. I am currently going to school for my Bachelor's in Neuroscience. After undergrad, I am on to get my Master's and PhD. My family is the most important thing to me. Without them, I wouldn't have my best friends. They have been with me through thick and thin. I feel like everyone deserves the chance to be loved and supported. My life consists mainly of music. I play the violin, piano, and ukulele (very poorly.. but it's fun!). I hope to be perform in a professional symphony someday. we will see how that goes ;) I love looking at the world differently each day. It is always changing. I am a daydreamer. I can't go through a class without thinking of an adventure that I will NEVER go on. I am physically imperfect. I was born with Club Feet (on both feet). I must say, that has been a trial. I still can't go a day without at least ONCE wishing my feet weren't deformed. But it makes me who I am.. and someday, I will be happy with that. :) carrots give me the hiccups I love quoting movies. I love smiling. I am natarie, natty, tallie, nat, and natalie... This is who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? it's simple. Without this gospel, I would be lost. I was born into this church and into a family that taught me the principles of the gospel. I didn't have a testimony building conversion story. But that doesn't mean that I wasn't converted myself to know that, for myself, this is the true gospel. I can't even begin to say how many times I have had trials that have tested my faith. As soon as these trials begin, I immediately turn to my scriptures and I read. I usually pray before I read so that I may gain a better understanding of the scriptures and so that I may have my questions answered. Many of my nonmember friends always wonder why I am so happy and positive all the time. I always just say that it's because I know who I am and why I am here. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. He sent His only son for me. I did have a time where I felt as if my testimony wasn't strong. I felt so inadequate. I remember praying and praying, begging for an answer... finally. it hit me. I needed to find my own testimony. it wasn't going to just come to me. I had to study and grow for myself. Not for others. Now I have my own testimony and I love it. I love this gospel more than anything. It provides me with the guidance and the truth that I need to make it through my day each and every day. I know that my family can be together forever. Knowing that makes living each day even better. I know that I get to be with my best friends for eternity. I wouldn't be the person I am today without my family. I know that the Prophet is a true prophet of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ. Just thinking about all of the truth that is on the Earth today makes me smile. I love this gospel with all of my heart and I know that this is the true church.

How I live my faith

Before I switched to the Single's Ward, I was the CTR 4 teacher. I taught all of the little 4-year-old children every Sunday. That was a huge blessing in my life. I knew that these children of God knew of the truth of the gospel... even when we get off topic. I go to church every Sunday. There are days when I really don't want to go because I am tired and I would much rather lay in bed all day... but that is the best time to go to church. it's always those days where I get the answers to the questions that I have been pondering or when I feel the Spirit the most. I try my best to Visit Teach every month. I know how much visiting teaching has affected me and how I have grown to become close friends with my visiting teachers.
