Hi I'm Jovania

I am a musician, army wife, mother to 4 beautiful children, and a student. I am terrified of water and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of 3 children and I am the only girl, you guessed it, its all about me. ha! My mother joined the church when I was young and I can remember the missionairies visiting our home. I am an Army wife. Hooah! I am very grateful for the life that being in the military provides me. I met my husband when we were in the youth program together. He is my best friend. We have four amazing children. I am also a homeschooling mom. I enjoy learning and growing with them. They teach me far more than I could ever teach them. I have a deep passion for music and singing. I can't even imagine not being able to sing or feel the power that comes from music. It has always been there for me, yes my world is a BIG musical. :) I am currently pursuing my degree in Music Education. When I am not busy with all of the above things I enjoy cooking, sewing, crafting, and being with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

As I can't imagine a world with out music, I also can't imagine my life with out the knowledge of the gospel. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and knows me! I believe in the power of prayer and the peace it brings to me. I know that when you kneel down with pure intent to inquire of the Lord, He will always answer. It may not be on our time but in His due time the answers come. I remember when I was 13 years old, asking my father if I could attend other churches so I could know for myself if this faith was right for me. My father, being the wise man he is, allowed me to visit other denomanations with my friends with one stipulation. His only request was that I prayerfully and earnestly study the Book of Mormon. If I read every page and didn't believe it, I was free to join another faith. I remember kneeling down each day as I read the Book of Mormon asking to know if it was His true church. I remember the feeling I recieved when I knew that without any hesitation it was true for me. I know with out any doubt that this is the Lords true and only church. I know that He has a plan for me. I believe in the savior Jesus Christ! I am grateful for the pains he endured and suffered so that I may one day return to live with my Heavenly Father again. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true testament of Jesus Christ. I also know that the Bible is the word of God. I believe that families are forever and that this life couldn't possibly be the end. I know that we have a modern day prophet to lead and guide us and give us revelation according to the Lord. All in the scriptures, the Lord had prophets declaring His gospel, why then would he not have one now in these tulmultous times?! I am proud to be a daughter of a Heavenly King and I am proud to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know who I am and I know His plan, and I will follow Him in faith.

How I live my faith

Living my faith begins and ends with striving to be like our savior Jesus Christ. Though I will never, never be perfect like unto Him, I will not stop trying to be like Him. He is the ultimate example of how we all should be and treat each other. I think that doing the little, simple things like smiling at strangers can help us to become more like Him. I try to smile at everyone I come in contact with. A smile can make anyone's day. I feel like there is always something more we can do to grow spiritually and draw closer to our savior Jesus Christ. Our family has what we call FHE (family home evening) every Monday night where we study the gospel principles of our faith. We read scriptures daily as a family and pray often. We are constantly growing and adding new things that can help us grow stronger in our faith. I love the being an active member in my ward and serving in any capacity I can. I have been able to teach small children, youth, and the women. I have been blessed with my musical abilities and have been able to use them to teach, lead, and direct music in my church. I love to share my testimony through music. Music has a way that can touch and soothe even the most troubled soul. It breaks through the barrier of language, hate, war, and sin. I wouldn't be able to live or share my faith with out the music that runs through my veins and my soul.
