Hi I'm Jared

I'm an artist and a nerd, and i'm a Mormon

About Me

Art is a big part of my life and always has been. "My Art holds most of my feelings" is something I've said to a friend. I am currently going to college for an associates degree in fine arts and love it! It is amazing to see the things people can do with their talents. I also love to read, usually books with magic, knights and tons of action. I served a mission in the best place in the world, with about the worst weather ever! Dallas Texas! You just CAN'T beat southern hospitality. as a favorite T-shirt i saw down there said " We don't care HOW yall do it up north!" I love The Book Of Mormon and read it over and over again. It is a testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. never knew any other way. I myself have an inquisitive personality and feel to think long and hard about decisions I make. Never at any time did I feel The Book Of Mormon or The Holy Bible taught anything but the truth. I found that Truth was rather easy to discover, but that following it was my personal challenge. It came time for me to make a very important decision once, whether or not to leave my family and friends and home to go and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ for two years. I will mention that it never before was in me to speak to people I didn't know. (that's a hard way to make friends by the way) At length, I made the right decision. I Packed my bags and was called by God to serve a mission in Dallas Texas, Where I changed from a frightened and often frustrated young man to one of a more patient demeanor, a man with love towards a few more people. I am a Mormon Because God Changed me. He made me who I am and helps me become more all the time. By the Power of The Holy Ghost I have Come to know for myself that The Book Of Mormon is the word of God, That Joseph Smith is a True Prophet, and That the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints is the Lords kingdom on the earth. That is how I feel.

How I live my faith

After coming home from my two year full-time mission, I was blessed to become a leader in my local church. I am able to work closely with the full-time missionaries at home and preach the gospel here. I enjoy giving service to those in need and strive to be available to help at any moment. I have learned that if you wait till doing the right thing is convenient, you will rarely do it.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is like having a life full of difficulties, defeats, and destruction and corruption all around you, but with a friend nearby. This friend is Jesus Christ, It is the Holy Ghost, Its all the other Mormons and other great people, christian or not, whom I have met and are friends, looking out for me always. Life is hard, but being a member of this church is a great blessing because i have real knowledge, knowledge that their is a God, that he has a plan for me. in the end, we think we don't matter, that our voice is not heard, but that is simply not true, WE can all make a difference in this world, either fr good or bad. I choose the good, as often as I have strength, that's what being a Mormon is like to me. Show more Show less
