Hi I'm Devin

I'm from Vegas, I love watching anime, playing games, drawing, and I love talking about the gospel.

About Me

I was born and raised in Las Vegas. I come from a large family of 7 kids. Both my parents had previous marriages, so we're a mixed family, but we're a family all the same! I love my family. Some of my brothers and sisters are half black, so that makes me feel cool! Ha ha! I grew up playing video games with my family, so I love to play video games even today. I also began drawing at an early age, and that's a talent I continue to develop. I also love to watch anime, some of my favorites being One Piece, Sword Art Online, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. I was born and raised in the church in Vegas, so I've been able to see a huge contrast between the lives of people in and out of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I see that those who live by the Church's standards are much happier, which is why I choose to continue to be faithful, among other reasons. I served a mission in the Kentucky Louisville Mission and served in Kentucky and Indiana. I loved serving a mission and learned so much from the experience.

Why I am a Mormon

I continue to be a Mormon because I know that this is Christ's church. Any religious question I've ever asked has had an answer in this church that no other church or philosophy has answers to. I've found these answers on my own through prayer and study and revelation from God. I've also seen the contrast in my own life from when I'm living the way the scriptures say I should and when I don't, and I've felt the difference. I'm so much happier being a Mormon than I could ever be as anything else.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to keep God's commandments. I pray everyday, I study daily, I go to church on Sunday, I try to help others, I try to be an example of Christ. I also try to fulfill my responsibilities in the church. Right now I'm serving as the Elder's Quorum First Counselor, so I help the Elder's Quorum President assist in helping the lives of our members, whether that be spiritual needs, physical, or emotional. Together we are also in charge of overseeing Home Teaching in the ward, we organize a schedule for everyone to visit each other in the church so that we can all build more of a family relationship.
