Hi I'm Cara

I grew up in Illinois, converted to the church in New York, and married in the temple. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a convert to the church 6 years ago. I met my husband after converting and we were sealed in the temple. He is in the Army, so we move all over the states. I am so grateful for the consistency of the church because everywhere we go we have an instant family who loves and supports us. I love sports and have helped coach a basketball team. I love to serve and am blessed with the opportunity to work with a nonprofit that betters our community.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was investigating the church, there were a few thing that really helped me to find my sense of belonging in the church. I had always lived by the same standards of the church, so it was really nice to find people that were like me. I am also a logical thinker, so much of our teaching just "made sense". I enjoyed reading the Book of Mormon and found it quite easier to read than other scripture... I could read it for hours. As I read and studied the scripture I came to have a testimony of its truthfulness. I always knew of the atonement, but now I believe in the atonement. I know that Jesus died for our sins and that we can repent and live again with our Heavenly Father someday. I love the temple and am so thankful that I can be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I am currently called to serve with the young women of the church. I teach the 12-14 year old girls regularly. I also had the opportunity to plan and take all of our girls to camp, which was 4 funfilled days of crafts, lessons, skits, songs, and lots of laughter. I love working with the young women in the church.
