Hi I'm EmmaRae

I grew up in Utah. I am finishing up school at USU as an elementary school teacher. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I love to sing! I play cello, piano, recorder, and a bit of guitar. I also like arts and crafts and am currently working on a Swedish weave blanket. I come from a large family (9 kids) and loved it! Autumn is my favorite season and Christmas is my favorite holiday. I am at college, preparing to become an elementary school teacher with an emphasis in music. I am still single in my late 20's. I served a mission for the LDS church in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area and grew a lot from the experiences there. In my spare time, I like to read novels (especially Jane Austen), watch old movies, take walks out in nature, star gaze, and dance around my apartment. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the Spirit of God bear witness to my heart that this is the true church and Gospel of Jesus Christ. I prayed to know of its truth and in my heart I felt peace and reassurance. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed about its truthfulness as well and it was confirmed. I remain a member because I know that it is true and if I were to stray and not repent, I could not live with God or my family after I die. I have also seen much happiness and prosperity as I live the Gospel right now. Heavenly Father is truly watching over us all and will send the blessings we need every day if we will but turn to Him. Knowing what I know and seeing others who do not, my heart yearns to help them see the 'big picture' of eternity and how much happiness and joy that they could have if they knew and believed what I do. Everyone can have that knowledge! It is never too late to know the truth and to turn to Jesus Christ. Do it now and receive the blessings that await you! I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ, restored in its fullness. There is a living prophet on earth today, just like in ancient times, and God speaks to him.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the church as a Visiting Teaching Coordinator, which means that I organize the women in my congregation into pairs that go visit each other to see how each sister (woman) is doing, to assess any needs, and to share an uplifting, spiritual message with her. I also sing in the church choir, help teach church classes, and share my testimony (what I know to be true) with others. I volunteer in my church as well as in the community to do service projects. Also, I participate in the activities that are set up by the church.
