Hi I'm David

I'm the happiest person on earth, I'm so pumped up about the gospel, and I love life because I'm a Mormon!!!

About Me

I was born in Winchester, Virginia with the SICKEST family in the world. I grew up playing soccer, running, and playing piano and those are my favorite things to do. I love sports and even though it's weird, I like science a lot. I went out to BYU-Provo for a year and now I'm serving a mission! The Church is the best part about my life, so there's not much more to say. I'm a family guy and will probably have like 50 kids (hope my wife doesn't care). I want to make it into med school and become an orthopaedic surgeon or do cancer research. That would be awesome! No matter what though, life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember when I first finished reading the Book of Mormon in 8th grade. I was laying on my bed, wearing yellow basketball shorts and a Jackson Hole, Wyoming shirt. It was Wednesday, November 4... just kidding, I don't remember that much. But I remember the experience that took place and I'll never be able to forget it. I finished the book, felt prompted to pray, and asked God if the book was true. God pulled out a rocket launcher and shot me with the Holy Ghost, which was the best feeling I had ever felt. The Spirit testified strongly to me that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that I was on the right path. I have read that book and had the same experience time and time again and I know that every ounce of the Book of Mormon is the Word of God, without a doubt. That book holds great power that can change the heart of man and help lead someone looking for the truth to it! So what does that mean? Since the Book of Mormon is true, we know that God loves us. We know that He has a called a prophet to lead and guide us in these days, just like in days of old. We know that He has restored the Church of Jesus Christ on the earth again, with the complete gospel and authority to perform saving ordinances. We know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, the Redeemer of the world, the Way, the Truth, and the Light. And the reason I'm a Mormon is because I know these things. And it pumps me up!!! I have purpose and direction in my life, I have happiness and peace, and I find comfort even in the most difficult challenges I face. This life is hard, filled with a lot of heart-aches, disappointments, and pains, but the load can be lifted as we put our faith in Christ and His gospel. He suffered for us so that our burdens may be light and so that we can overcome all things, and we will! He died so that we might live. He suffered so that we don't have to. He was bound so that we may be free. I know He lives and I know that this is His true church. And that's why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Right now I'm serving as a missionary for the church, speaking spanish in the Colorado Colorado Springs Mission. This is the best time of my life! I get to wake up each day and work my hardest to bring other people to this gospel. It's such a privilege to be able to do this. I get to walk around, knocking on doors, visiting people to tell them the good news! I get to share my testimony hundreds of times a day to those looking for the truth. I live my faith by following the Savior, trying to do what He would do. I rely on Him daily, knowing that His sacrifices are what save me and can help me overcome all the trials that I go through. I keep His commandments, knowing that one day it will all be worth it. I live my faith by reading the scriptures, praying to my Father in Heaven, and doing my best to help out others in need. And most of all, I live my faith by wearing a smile... because when you're truly living this gospel, it's impossible to take off.
