Hi I'm Mike Linzey

I grew up in Southern Vermont. I joined the Church in 1992 with my wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work for a local defense contractor. I have 4 children. Two have served missions and the other two are still in the youth program. I went to the Coast Guard Academy. I worked in the operational side of the CG for 9 years, then got my MSEE as the Naval Postgraduate school in Monterey , CA and worked in engineer for the rest of my CG career. We joint the Church in Cape May New Jersey in 1992. I retired from the CG in 2000 and came back home to the New England area.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is not convenient. I am a Mormon because I know it to be true. I can see the effect in my life and the lives of my family. For me being a Mormon is hard work, it brings joy to my life. If there were an easier way I would go with it. But there isn't. The Gospel is true and I am left with a choice to act on it or not. I chose to act on it. I know that my Heavenly Father knows and loves me. I find great hope and peace in the plan of salvation it is worth everything that it takes.

How I live my faith

I work with the single 20-30 year members of the Church in my area. We provide a safe place for them to develop and strengthen there testimonies of Jesus Christ.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Mike Linzey
