Hi I'm Monica

I grew up in Alaska. I am a busy wife and full-time mother of three wonderful children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my husband for five wonderful years. I have three children, ages 4, 2 and 2 months. I run my own vinyl business out of my home. I love music and I love to sing. I was born and raised in Alaska. I love camping and the outdoors. I went to college at BYU-Idaho, where I received an associates degree. I grew up in the church and served a full-time mission in the Oregon for 18 months. I am learning to love cooking and trying new things. I love to laugh!

Why I am a Mormon

My Dad grew up in this church and my Mom is a convert to the church. I grew up in the Church and had the opportunity to rub shoulders with many wonderful people growing up. All growing up I learned about God's plan for me and was able to read and study in the scriptures through wonderful programs that the church offers and in my home. Through out my life I was always taught to seek out the Lord and His will. I was taught to study and pray about the things that were taught. I felt the spirit often, but as I was preparing to leave home, I found it very important to absolutely know for myself that this was indeed true and not just what my parents believed. I remember very clearly sitting on the airplane as I was leaving for college. I was reading in the scriptures and felt that I should pray. I said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father very directly if it was true. I had an overwhelming feeling from the spirit, and it was as if there was a voice that said, "you have always known it is true". I knew then and I know now that this is the Lord's church in it's fullness. There are parts of the truth everywhere and there is so much good and truth in all Christian churches, but this is His Church. I know that I Lord has once again restored His priesthood upon the Earth and that there are apostles and Prophets here for us today. I have felt the spirit of the Lord time and time again confirm to me that these things are true! As I strive to live the principles of the Gospel, my life is blessed in every dimension.

How I live my faith

Every day in my home I try to live my faith in the way I take care of my family and live. Having three very young children can be stressful and sometimes crazy, but I try each day to do better and rely more entirely on the Lord for strength and direction! I know that my children are a gift from God, and I try to raise them the way that He would have me do. I strive to read in my scriptures and pray to Him daily. I am not perfect at this, but I do know that when I do these things, the spirit of the Lord is with me and in my home. I have been asked to be a visiting teacher and visit some of the women in our congregation. Each month I try to make sure that I visit them at least once and make sure that they are doing well. I really enjoy the opportunity to serve these women and get to know them! I have made some very dear friends through serving them. I also have the privilege right now to work with the wonderful youth in our congregation, specifically the young women ages 12-18. I teach lessons to them on Sundays and help to plan activities for them for each week that will help them build a relationship with Heavenly Father and learn life skills. I really enjoy working with these wonderful youth, and feel that they teach me as much I do them. I strive to live in such a way so that when people see me, they see the light of Christ through me and what I do.
