Hi I'm Kirsten

I am a missionary, a family history enthusiast, a dancer, a daughter, a student. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old. I am currently serving in the Mexico Guadalajara East Mission. I recently completed my first year at BYU (go cougars!) studying nutritional science and dance. I am the oldest in my family with two younger brothers. I was born and raised a member of the church and consider it a great blessing. I always love to find the adventures in life and enjoy learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been fortunate enough to grow up in the LDS church. My parents have taught me good values and morals and have always taken me to church. Even so, it wasn't until I was a little older that I found out for myself that this church is true. Through trials, prayer and diligent scripture study, I have received my own confirmation that the Book of Mormon is a true book and that God is real. As I've continued to live the teachings of the gospel, I have felt the Spirit in my life and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's church. God is our Father, His son Jesus Christ is our Redeemer-- they live and they love us.

How I live my faith

I chose to serve a mission because I have come to know the genuine happiness that this gospel can invite into a life and I could not selfishly enjoy these wonderful blessings without feeling a sincere desire to share them with others. I believe in our loving Savior, brother, and friend, Jesus Christ. And I know that because He carried the heaviest burden this world has ever known on his shoulders, completely alone, I do not have to endure my own hardships on my own. He is my best friend; He gives purpose to our trials and hope for a better tomorrow. He has called me forth at this time to this place for a specific purpose. Although I may not understand or even know His entire plan for me right now, I DO know that He will guide me to where I need to be and mold me into who I need to be. For that, I am grateful.

What is faith?

Kirsten
Faith is a strong belief that motivates a person to act. It can be difficult to believe in something that is not seen, but that is why we must have faith. Once you have this belief, even if it is as small as a mustard seed, you can develop and strengthen this faith by acting upon it. By following God's commandments, reading and studying His word, by praying, and by having a desire to believe in Christ, you are exercising your faith and by doing so, it will grow.
