Hi I'm Zach

I grew up in Utah, have a beautiful wife, two little boys, and love playing handball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Utah my whole life except for the two years I spent in Brazil as a full-time missionary for the LDS Church. I'm happily married to a wonderful woman named Emily. We currently have two little boys that can drive us crazy sometimes, but they are the joy of our lives and couldn't imagine life without them. I graduated with a degree in business from Utah State University. I love hiking in the mountains, playing sports, spending time with family, and Disney animated movies - which is probably what sealed the deal when I asked my wife to marry me.

Why I am a Mormon

Realistically, I think that I'm a Mormon first of all because my parents are members of the LDS Church. I was raised a Mormon and attending church was expected each Sunday while growing up. However, now that I'm older and have a family of my own, I'm not a Mormon because of my parents' beliefs. I'm a Mormon because I've have discovered the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for myself. I have learned for myself that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God and that the authority to perform ordinances such as baptism was restored through Joseph Smith. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I've read it many times and prayed about it many times. Each time I pray to my Father in Heaven asking whether the Book of Mormon is true or not, the feelings that come into my heart are a testament to me of its truthfulness. I'm a Mormon because of the happiness and joy that comes into my life from doing my best to live the commandments of God. I served a full-time proselyting mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I wanted to share my joy with others. The Gospel of Jesus Christ blesses everyone, and it would have been extremely selfish of me to not answer the call to serve my Savior. Most importantly, I'm a Mormon because I want to be with my family forever. Such a blessing can only come through temple ordinances. I know that that I can be with my wife and children forever because the authority to perform eternal marriages exists in the temples today. I'm so grateful for a living Prophet and living Apostles whose teachings guide and instruct me. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in its entirety and that if I stay on this strait and narrow path, I will once again return to live with my Father in Heaven. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I do my best to follow the example of my Savior Jesus Christ by serving those around me - be it coworkers, neighbors, friends, family, and fellow Church members. I work primarily with the youth in my community by helping organize scout activities and service projects. I try to be a good example while encouraging and supporting them in their day-to-day lives. It requires a lot of time and sacrifice, but I know that I'm doing the Lord's will by working with these young men and women during their teenage years.
