Hi I'm Jeannette

I was raised in Mesa Arizona but now live in Idaho. I am retired. I have always been a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happy retired single woman. I was married for 25 years before being divorced. I have three beautiful sons and 12 grandchildren. I worked for 30 years to support my sons and myself. I love to garden, I am a photographer of flowers and the beautiful creations of this earth. I love being a mom and a grandmother.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was young I knew that there was a greater power. I would lay in the cotton trailers and look to the sky knowing that someone was there and that they loved me. I dont know how except from the teachings of my mother and just the feeling in my heart. When I was 8 I asked my father if I could be baptized, he was not a member of the LDS church. He told me he would have to think about it, I had learned that if you want something really bad you could fast and pray and Heavenly Father would answer. So I did. I was 8. After one long day and night and lots of aprehention I went back to my father. A wonderful peace came over me when I entered the room, my father said I could be baptized but I needed to be a Mormon if I was going to take on that name. I have tried to be a Mormon since that day. It has not been easy, the world is a rough place to live. Many hard times came but my faith and the peace that comes when you are trying, helps you win the battles. I have studies many things to help me understand and this I know through the peaceful calming spirit in my heart that I know comes from my Heavenly Father. That I have a Heavenly Father and He loves me. That there is a plan of salvation and the gospel of Jesus Christ is that plan. That Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son because he had faith enough to ask what to do. That the words from the golden plates were translated by Joseph Smith into the Book of Mormon. That if we follow what is said in the Bible and the second witness of Jesus Christ The Book Mormon we will know how to live our lives and return to our Father in Heaven That there is a prophet on the earth today, it is Thomas S. Monson That Jesus is the Christ, the very Son of God, and He has atoned for our sins, our hurts, our pain. The restoration of the gospel in its fullness has been restored. I witness these things in the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior, my Lord and my redeemer.

How I live my faith

I have always felt close to my Father in Heaven and because of this I have felt the need to know more about who and what He is. I have tried to live the commandments and particiapte in anything that shows that committment. I have worked with the youth in the community at cancer camps and in my faith with the youth programs for both the boys and the girls. I love camping and enjoying nature with the young people. I have worked with the womens relief organization in the church for many years. It has helped me see my sisters as really sisters together here in the plan of Father in Heaven. I have loved scouting with my sons and now enjoy watching my sons teach their sons the joys of being prepared. My sons went on missions for the church and I was able to fufill that goal for me also. I was able to fill my mission in the Europe Area where I met and worked many wonderful people. I was also able to visit locations where my ancestors were from. To see the land on my linage was wonderful and gave me a bigger desire to find out who all my ancester are.
