Hi I'm Aly

I'm a dancer. I love to laugh. I love to talk. I love to run. I teach elementary school, and... I'm a mormon.

About Me

I just graduated with a degree in elementary education. I spent four months last summer studying the Bible in Jerusalem, Israel. I loved every minute of it, I love to travel and see the beautiful world that God has created! I love to cook, ski, swim, dance, and laugh. I love to be spontanious! I believe that a day without laughter is a day wasted. I'm a strong believer that life is too short to not be lived! Summer is my favorite season. I love nothing more than to soak up some sunshine and spend my summer days near the water. I especially enjoy spending time with my siblings and my nieces. They are my favorite people! I have many friends and enjoy spending time with them as well. There isn't anything like some quality time with friends and family. Currently I'm serving as a full time missionary in Virginia, and loving every second of the dense trees, southern hospitality, and of course some good southern cooking. I love being a missionary! There are good days and bad, but all together there is nothing more fulfilling than preaching the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I took the challenge to act upon the invitations given by the church. I decided to read the Book of Mormon for myself and then pray to know that if what I was reading was true. I recieved a definite answer that it is true, and I cannot deny it. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ, and that he was a prophet of this church. I have a testimony that God is our loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that his atoning sacrifice is real, and that the atonement works for EVERYONE. As we accept Jesus Christ and his atonement our burdens can be lifted and even the worst of sins can be forgiven. At time our load is difficult to carry, but he is always by our side just waiting for us to ask for help. At times it has been hard for me to really believe that out of all the people in the world God knows me and cares about me. Through difficult times I have found myself leaning on him for support and sincerely praying. He has comforted me and I have felt his love! I have come to know that he does care about each and every one of us. No matter who we are and the choices we have made we are all worth the same in the sight of God and he loves each and every one of us equally. Jesus has felt everything that I have ever felt and I don't have to fear because I know that he has taken care of it. I testify that through the atonement of Jesus Christ all the unfair things about life can be made right. I know that God loves me and I feel his love for others and I serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know this church to be the one and only true church. I testify that the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored. I know these things because I have asked God and have recieved an answer through the Holy Ghost. I know it, and I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others and am currently spending my time in the service of my church as a full-time missionary. I have held many callings in my church, one of my favorites was teaching the children. My favorite way to live my faith is be an example to others. I love to let the joy that the gospel brings lift those around me. There is a light of within all of us, and as we build our relationship with Jesus Christ we become more able to be an instrument in his hands. I love watching the spirit touch people and bring them extraordinary amounts of happiness. It is the most rewarding experience.
