Hi I'm Nathaniel

I grew up in Utah in a Mormon family. I just graduated from high school and I am getting ready to serve a mission.

About Me

I have spent my life in Utah. I play the piano and have competed nationally a couple of years ago. I have spent six years volunteering with a local veterinarian and I plan to become a vet. I love learning and did well in school. I was given a great scholarship to a major university, but I won't be starting college until after I serve as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Days Saints for two years.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I always went to church because that's what my parents did and that's what they wanted me to do. I was taught from a young age stories from the Bible and Book of Mormon. I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at age eight. That is my first memory of a big spiritual experience. I remember a feeling of peace and joy that came over me when I was baptized. Since then, I have had many experiences confirming that this is where I'm supposed to be and what I'm supposed to be doing. Little things, like youth leaders who really understand me and what I'm needing, answers to prayers (like finding things, calming me down, helping me to prepare for tests), things like God continually pointing bits of inspiration to me (like driving down the road and seeing something on a sign, turning on the radio and hearing just the right song, and all-around just cheering me up), everything just shows me that God really is there and that this is His church and that's why I stay here.

How I live my faith

I have served as a youth leader in my church helping to plan and carry out activities for other youth. I have been involved in the Boy Scouts of America where I became an Eagle Scout. I have really enjoyed service opportunities that I have had through my church and through scouting. I attend church every week which helps me to keep my priorities straight and to focus on the things that matter most (like God and my family).
