Hi I'm Michael Hilton

I grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. I'm a missionary in Houston, Texas. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old. I was born in Mission Viejo, California. I have lived in California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, and Texas. I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Houston, Texas. I have a very interesting personality, that you can never get used to, because while certain elements stay the same, it is always changing. I have ADHD and am most known for it. Everyone knows I have it and see more and more of it as time spent with me increases. I pick up a new hobby just about every week. Once I get bored with a hobby, I move on, and return back to it periodically. I am a dreamer! I am always in my own little world, dreaming about the future and what it will bring. Luckily I have always had good friends who are able to bring me back to the present. I am loving and caring to all people and have a very soft heart. I get along with pretty much everybody and I try to make everyone my friend. I will stop at no expense until they are! I love animals, and feel a deep spiritual connection when I am among them. I imagine myself always having a dog. And if I am ever in a situation in which I could support a horse I will buy one. I love animals because I can see their personality. I love finding an animals humor, and seeing their great capacity for love and fidelity to their owner and other animals. I love my faith because it has brought me so much joy! I don't know what I would do without it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. All throughout my childhood I was just going through the motions. Because I really just wasn't that focused on religion. It played a large role in my life, but I still did not put it first when making decisions. I always knew it was true in the back of my mind, I just never really paid attention to it. As a youth I wasn't to serious about life. It wasn't until I was on my own that I realized that I needed to eaither get serious about church or get out. I now had a decision of whether I wanted it to be a part of my life or not, and I wasn't going to put forth all the effort if it was something that I didn't want. I started by reading the Book of Mormon. I prayed many times to know that it was true. I got an answer that it was true through a still small voice, and every time I read I felt such a strong spirit confirming the truth of what I was reading. Right then and there I made the decision that this was the path I needed to be on. So I got back on the path, and through the atonment of Jesus Christ was able to become clean again. I was so greatfull for all of the things that God had blessed me with my entire life, even thought I often took them for granted, that I decided to serve a full-time two year mission to Houston, Texas. Where I am now preaching the word and bringing souls unto Christ. I am the happiest I have been in my entire life right now, and love the people that I meet and teach.

How I live my faith

God created man, so that they would have joy. That is the overall theme in my life. If I am not having fun, I am falling asleep. That is as simple as it is! We have such a small amount of time here, and I just want to be able to experience everything that I can of all the many wonderfull joys that God has given us on this green earth! I know that Heavenly Father didn't just put me here to go through the motions. He wants me to find the things that I am good at and the things that I enjoy doing, and to DO THEM! I live every day doing the things that will make me the happiest spiritually and temporally. I bring God with me for every moment of my life. I know that he is there, and I try to incoprporate the spirit into everything that I do. I always know that everything around me was created by God, and that He has a hand in everything that happens around me. Although, I don't always recognize promptings of the Spirit, I try my hardest to always take the Spirit with me, so that it can guide me through sticky situations.
