Hi I'm Susan

I grew up in Florida although I have now lived longer in Texas. I stay busy raising our 6 kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up, I practically lived at the County pool in Florida. I enjoyed teaching swimming and swimming on the swim team. My stroke was the butterfly stoke! After moving to Texas my swimming slowed down a lot! I still get to swim at times but nothing like I use to do! I enjoy reading to help me relax and we read books as a family when we go on a vacation. Now that the kids are getting older, we have several books and readers during vacations. We could have 3 different books being read at the same time. I am the mother of 6 and enjoy my time with my children and husband. In addition to raising our children, I work part time and attend college. About a year and a half ago, I decided to go back to school. It has proved difficult at times but I enjoy it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have never really questioned the gospel. I was tried a bit when I served my mission in Philidelphia but my testimony has never wavered. How can I say that? Well, I know the direction that living the gospel gives me on a daily basis. I have witnessed how lives have changed when people have grasped the gospel. I've witnessed and experienced the blessings that come when living the gospel. It's who I am. I don't know everything and never claim to know it all but I love the Gospel with all my heart. I try to live it to the best of my ability.

How I live my faith

Right after getting married, I started working with the children in my congregation. This was when I first learned about the Cub Scout program. Since then I have done many things in scouting and really enjoyed when I had the opportunity to be the program director for our district for Twilight Camp. It was a very big and busy job! My scouting training has been great in several situations. After working so much with the children (abt. 16 years), I graduated to work with the youth! Of course, I am back with the children now as I am currently the Webelos Den Leader in Cub Scouting. However, I very much enjoyed my time with the youth. I got to work with them through the area celebration we called the "Jubilee" as well as different youth conferences and lots of dances! The youth and children are all great and I enjoy my time with them.
