Hi I'm Angie J.

I am a proud mom of two young, active boys. I teach group fitness classes for a local gym. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother to two young boys. They keep me busy & life is always exciting. I teach group fitness classes at our local gym (kickboxing, dance, yoga, core training & cycle). I love what I do in inspiring others to live a healthy & active lifestyle. I also enjoy running. My husband & I completed the Washington DC Ragnar Relay last fall. I like to cook & love to experiment with new recipes. I have such a sweet tooth, another reason I enjoy running. When I have free time I like to read. I really want to learn how to sew. One of my life goals is to go into poverty stricken countries & help with development projects. I am a country girl at heart & love the outdoors. My dad has horses that we love to ride when we go visit.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. My parents are very active in the church & encouraged us to be as well. I was baptized a member of the church when I was eight years old. One of the songs sung at my baptism was "I am a Child of God." As I was sitting in my seat I got a very warm, comforting feeling & I started to cry. I knew that the feeling I had was the Holy Ghost testifying to me that the church was true & that my Heavenly Father was pleased with me for my decision to be baptized. I am not perfect and I make mistakes all the time. But I know that Jesus Christ came to this earth to live & die that I might not know the true pain & suffering of my mistakes. That through repentance I can be forgiven. That He will always love me. I know that Families are Eternal & part of the plan of salvation. That if we live our lives according to the commandments of God we can return to live with Him & be with our families for eternity. I do not know where I would be in life without the gospel. It gives me hope & knowledge, peace & comfort & I know in my heart that it is true. Life is not easy, it's not meant to be. We are not perfect but we can try to be. I would love others to know for a surety that His gospel is real, that it has been restored to this earth & that we need to live our lives to prepare to meet our Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ again. This is my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in our church working with the small children ages 3-11. We organize Sunday lessons & music time for them. We give them a chance to participate in the activities & learn about the gospel. We teach them principles of the gospel as well as how to live their lives making good choices. They learn that their Heavenly Father loves them & wants them to return to live with Him again.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Angie J.
I believe this is simply a lack of knowledge. There are a lot of sacred covenants that take place within the church. They are looked upon from members not of our faith as secret & kept from the outside world. These covenants are sacred between the covenant holders & out of respect & reverence should not be shared. We invite all to learn of our beliefs from us to know the truth. Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Angie J.
The prophet of our church is called by the Lord. It is His church & he leads & directs it here on this earth. The men who speak as His mouth piece are honest & sincere. They are inspired & seek to carry out the gospel to all the world. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Angie J.
Faith is believing in something that you can not see. I have faith due to the experiences that I have had in my life & the blessings the Lord has given me. I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to me of things & I know in my heart that they are true. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Angie J.
Having a relationship with our Father in Heaven is something that we all can & should do. The easiest way to know Him is to speak to Him in prayer. Just like our family & friends that we talk to on a daily basis, He wants to know what is happening in our lives, share in our joys & comfort us in our sorrows. We must first let Him in & call to Him in sincere daily prayer. By keeping the commandments we can feel His love for us & know that He is real & that He lives. Reading the testimonies of special witnesses of Christ such as prophets & apostles help us to come to know Him as well as reading experiences recored in the scriptures. Show more Show less
