Hi I'm Carrie Yost

I am a Criminologist. I am Married to my Best Friend. I am a Mother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Criminologist here in Houston Texas. I will continue my studies in Criminology and would eventually like to join the FBI. I married my best friend at 20 and I could not be happier. We have a great life together with our dog Cowboy. We love our growing family! I enjoy running, triathlons,scrap-booking, cooking, spending time with my family, puppies, and living the Gospel! I am a convert to the church. I was introduced to the Gospel through my husband and after much prayer, reading the Book of Mormon, and a few little spats, I joined the true church and my life has been so much happier. I know there is a true church and this is it. There is guidance for the Lord's children for these latter days. We are not just wayward souls that have been abandoned. We are loved and divinely blessed. Through the Lord's plan families can be together forever and we can return to our Heavenly Father. He loves and knows each and every one of us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that this is the Lord's only true and living church. I joined because I knew there was more to religion than just going to church on Sundays. I knew in my heart that the Lord wanted us to live his Gospel and be an example to others. I knew that there was more for us but no other church could fill the void in my life that I knew I needed to fill and could only be filled through the true church of Christ. When my husband introduced me to the church I had a lot of questions and I learned that questions are great to have, the missionaries are God's Messengers sent to teach us the truth and answer our questions! I learned that the Book of Mormon is for us in these Latter Days. I learned that Families can be together forever. I learned there is a living Prophet. I learned that this is the Lord's true church and that His Gospel is more than just going to church on Sundays, it is a lifestyle choice, one that we can all embrace. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much and if we only "ask with a sincere heart and real intent" we can all know our Saviors Eternal Plan and rejoice in the truthfulness of the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending Church on Sundays, through daily prayer, conducting family home evening, and nightly scripture study with my husband. I also try to attend any activities the church has going on for the members, to fellowship and get to know my ward family. I also try to reach out to those in need by bringing them meals, babysitting, or just giving hugs to those who have had a bad day. I have also been a guest speaker at other wards and I always try to share the Gospel with my friends and family because I know the great joys that have come into my life since I came to the knowledge of the Restored Gospel.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Carrie Yost
Before I joined the church I always wondered why there was no prophet like in the Bible, or if there was I had not heard of him. It made no sense to me for there to be prophets in the Bible, but no prophets now. I asked myself, praying diligently why the Lord had no living prophets. Turns out, we DO have living prophets! I knew in my heart there had to be living prophets and once I was introduced to the church I learned that there is a living prophet and that He is the voice of the Lord. Through the prophets of ancient times and modern times we are able to live the principles of the Gospel, enjoy happier lives, and understand God's Eternal Plan for us. I can testify that there is a living prophet today who guides all people back into the presence of our Mighty God, we only need to listen. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Carrie Yost
Of course we are Christians! We believe Christ to be the Son of God, the only perfect man to walk the Earth. We believe Christ died so that we may be forgiven of our sins and that through Jesus Christ, we may all have Eternal Life. Christ and the Atonement are key principles taught to each and every member. We must accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are after all The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Show more Show less
