Hi I'm Mike Allred

I'm a fellowservant in Christ, an avid mountain biker here in PA, tired of public libraries, I'm a mormon. Ah yeah

About Me

Hello everyone, my name is Mike. I'm serving my mission in the great state of Pennsylvania. It was hard for me to understand the things pertaining to the gospel of Christ. I wasn't ever very active in church before my mission, but now I don't want to miss a Sunday. I think it was the most difficult trying to figure out the fact that we don't live our lives and have to go to church. Instead, quite the contrary. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we live church, and have to participate in life. I'm by no means perfect and I know I never will be in this life, I suppose that's why we're saved after all we can do.

Why I am a Mormon

It's honestly just a great way to live. The good lord has blessed us with his gospel so that we can live our lives to the fullest. Have you ever seen someone struggling with addiction? In a bad relationship? Or just searching for the reason they're here? The gospel of Jesus Christ helps us through every aspect of our lives. Why am I a Mormon? It just makes sense. I've never really been impressed upon the fact that if we simply pray and say we are sinners that we are going to be alright. It is just too easy. Baptism is mentioned in the scriptures around 75 times... but being born again twice. Christ tells us time, and time again, the only way to gain salvation is to follow his example. In essence; we are to have faith, repent, be baptised, recieve the gift of the holy ghost, and endure to the end. If you think about it, Christ lived his life following these basics. If Christ is our example in all things, and lived his life showing us all this, how can it be that we just need to believe? "And now, my beloved bretheren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save. Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal Life."--2Nephi 31: 19-20

How I live my faith

I am serving a mission. Every day I study my scriptures, and try to find ways to teach those out there who are searching for the word of God. You might ask me how I know that this is the true church, and I invite you to explore this yourself. I Have, in fact, participated in a whole mess of church activities. In my time, I've been on alot of campouts, bike trips, and all that good Christian stuff we mormons do. Every day, I try and become someone other than what I once was. This life is the time for All mankind to prepare to meet God. This is it. We need to put off the natural Context of what "Man" is defined as and become like unto how Christ is.
