Hi I'm Emilie

I grew up as a "military brat". I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I love music, outdoor adventures, and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church, and while my family definitely supports me in my faith, nobody ever forced me into it. I definitely have a testimony of my own because I've studied and prayed about it very much. It's not just that I know deep in my heart that it is true or right, but it truly gives me joy, literally every day. Anytime I start to feel alone, upset, or confused, if I just pick up my scriptures, truly study out the issue, and take it to the Lord in prayer, I feel this immense comfort and am able to work through it. In the dark moments of my life, the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been my guiding light. Everything makes such perfect sense, and while it's all-encompassing, it's so simple at the same time. The Bible, the Book of Mormon, they go hand in hand, and support one another. I love that this life is not all there is. I love that marriage and families don't have to be "til death do us part", that they're supposed to last forever. I am so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. No matter how hard I try, I will never (in this life) be perfect, but thanks to His sacrifice, I don't have to be, if I just repent. As long as I do my very best, that's all that matters. I know that God has a major hand in my life, and not only that, but he has a plan for me.

How I live my faith

I've spent a lot of time going to various church meetings such as seminary (teen group scripture study that takes place before school every day), and I'm very active in my community (I enjoy volunteering at the library and the local orphanage), but I definitely participate and show my faith most through my school life through things like trying to be kind to everyone, never being dishonest in my schoolwork, and not participating in illegal activities that are often popular in high school and college. Right now, I am attending a university run by the LDS church, so I'm surrounded by people who share my values, and we help each other live those.
