Hi I'm RaLynne

I am a daughter of God, a wife, a mother, a friend. I spend my days loving and raising my children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 6 young children. Life is super busy as I strive every day to meet the needs of, love, help and teach these sweet kiddos. I have surrendered my life to raising and caring for my family. Once in a while I do something for myself - like take a shower (ha!) or play some volleyball with friends. I am happy and love my life!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Mormon family. For some reason, I always knew that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was fully contained in the teachings of the LDS Church. However, as a teenager and young adult, there came a time when I questioned whether I should continue to follow the path I was on or investigate other religions. When I was young I could feel my Savior's love through the love my mother showed me, but I knew it was time to find out for myself. I began reading and praying about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon because I knew that if it were true that the prophet Joseph Smith truly was a prophet and that the fruits of his labors would truly be the work of the Lord. As I read and studied, I came to a story that impressed me. The story was of a man named Enos. He wanted to know if the gospel, as his father had taught him, was true. He prayed fervently and sincerely for a full day and night. He "wrestled" with the Lord about issues that concerned him and questions that he had about spiritual matters. After many long hours, Enos received a powerful answer to his prayer. This answer came because of Enos' faith in Jesus Christ. Enos knew that he had been forgiven of his sins and that Jesus Christ would come. Just as Enos received an answer to his prayer, I also received an answer to my prayer. I felt so strongly in my heart that Jesus Christ had died for ME. That my sins were forgiven because He loved ME. Of all the millions of people on the earth - He loved ME!! How could that be? Logistically, I still don't know how he does it, but I KNOW that he loves ME, individually. Because this knowledge came to me while praying and reading in the Book of Mormon, I knew that I was also receiving an answer to my prayer about the Book of Mormon being a true book of scripture. I knew that the church established by Joseph Smith was His church and I knew that I would devote the rest of my life on earth to following it's teachings.

How I live my faith

Every day I strive to be more like my Savior. I fail in a lot of ways, but I'm trying and I will keep trying. I love to read scriptures, pray and serve others around me because these things help me to feel happy and closer to my Heavenly Father. I feel I have a great responsibility to teach my children about our Savior, Jesus Christ. As a family, we read scripture together daily, pray daily and discuss how the experiences we are having bring us closer to our Savior. When we have family prayer, even our 1 year old daughter will stop what she is doing and fold her arms. All of our children participate in family scripture study and prayer each morning. Right after our prayer we all give each other big hugs and wish each other well for the day. This provides me so much comfort throughout the day - especially when hard things and challenges come up - I know that as a family we are together and we will support and help each other. We have devoted one night a week to spend together - family night. Nothing gets in the way of this precious time we have together. My husband has a busy work schedule and serves as the bishop of our ward. Our kids are very active and want to be involved in many sports and activities. However, Monday night is always reserved for Family Night. We get to do fun activities together and we always have a short lesson about how we can be more like our Savior.
