Hi I'm Aaron

I'm from Atlanta, GA, I attend BYU Hawaii, I love to run, swim, and read, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently attend BYU Hawaii, I'm studying International Cultural Studies. I love living in such an ethnically and culturally rich and diverse place. I sincerely enjoy reading, I have been known to spend an entire day with a book. I also deeply enjoy running, in fact, if I am ever stressed, depressed, or discouraged, I can find no better therapy than a good long run in the mountians, followed by a refreshing swim in the ocean. I love my friends and family more than anything, and I find no greater joy than being able to help someone, be it a friend or a stranger. Currently, I am in sales, in the long run, I am going to spend my life doing something to leave the world better than I found it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church, my ancestors were friends of Joseph Smith, and Brigham Young, and they crossed oceans and continents to follow what they believed in. I have gained my own witness that this Church is true. I have asked many people of many different faiths why they believe what they believe, and I have heard all kinds of answers. I believe that the validity of spiritual things can only be judged through spiritual means. I personally know that the Book of Mormon is true, along with the Bible. Nobody can know these things unless they read those books, and ask God if they are true. I have spent countless hours reading the scriptures, and probably more hours in prayer. If there is any one thing that I know in this world, it is that Jesus Christ is real, that he knows me on an individual level, and that he loves me more than I am able to comprehend. The blessings, manifestations, and miracles I have experienced have served to confirm and reconfirm what I already knew. By the same means that I have come to know the Savior, I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith really did speak to God the Father, and Jesus Christ face-to-face. This certainty brings stability and peace to my life. I know that I always have a friend, and a helping hand in Jesus, which means that I will never be alone.

How I live my faith

I believe that religion is all a matter of sacrificing towards something greater than myself. I do my best to sacrifice my time, my talents, and anything I have towards serving the Lord, or his children. I try every day to live a good life, and remember my Savior while I am going through the routines of daily life.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

Aaron
Latter-day Saints are encourage do donate money in the form of what we call "fast offerings". These are separate from tithing. Generally, we are encouraged to go without food or drink for a period of time, usually 24 hours, and donate the money that we would have spent on food to help provide the basic necessities of life to people who are in need. Also, the church encourages its members to serve on an individual basis as much as possible. Show more Show less
