Hi I'm Whitney

I'm a Student, a Musician, a Genealogist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school student who loves life. I love beauty and the very real experience of living. I have lived in Indiana all of my life and love it it. I love music, which plays a very key role in my life. I play several instruments including viola, violin, piano, and singing. I am an aspiring conductor. I love learning Spanish. My goal is to be fluent by the time I graduate high school. I really enjoy learning about different cultures and hope to be able to travel the world, especially Latin America. I also really enjoy writing. I write a blog, which has been an awesome experience for me. I enjoy teaching and tutoring. My favorite things to teach are music and English/Spanish. Doing genealogy/family history also is a big part of my life. I love learning about my ancestors and connecting generations of family together. I really love big sweaters, classic literature, flowers, princesses, bananas, and holidays.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Gospel brings me pure joy, I love my Savior, and I feel in my heart that the Gospel is true. The Holy Ghost has testified this to me not just once, but over and over again. I know that he will continue to testify of the truthfulness of the gospel to me as long as I live. I have received more blessings than I can even recognize from following Christ's example, and by doing the things I know to be right. I am a Mormon because through the gospel I can literally be genuinely happy every single day. Of course, it takes effort on my part, but it's one of the greatest blessings ever. I want other people to be able to feel this same happiness that I feel and to receive the same blessings which I receive.

How I live my faith

I think my faith shines through every aspect of my life. Music and the gospel are very much intertwined for me. Even when the music seemingly has nothing to do with religion, to me it is evidence of God's love for His children. Every performance I do is in gratitude of my Savior and Heavenly Father for giving me all that I have. I know I wouldn't be there performing if it were not for the countless blessings I've received from God. I also live my faith by showing kindness to everyone. I know that each person on earth is my brother or sister, for we were all created by our Heavenly Father. I can truly say that I love everyone and want the best for them. I want everyone to be able to feel the love Christ has for them, so I try to do all I can to help people be happy.

What is being a Mormon like?

It is so great to be a Mormon. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me more joy and peace than does anything else in the whole entire world. By understanding that I am a child of God, I can be confident and live my life to the fullest because I know my potential. I know my divine destiny. I strive to live my life in a way that will please my Savior, Jesus Christ so that at judgement day He will be proud of what I've accomplished and how I've lived. I know that I will live with my family again in heaven. The doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ is beautiful, and it blesses my life everyday. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons believe that the Lord has ordained marriage to be between man and woman. He created Eve for Adam and Adam for Eve so that they might be happy. The family is the purest, most beautiful and sacred unit in the universe. This is why families are so important to us. We believe that families are not separated in death, but that we can be with them forever in heaven. Show more Show less
