Hi I'm Katie

I love playing sports. I love learning. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree with a major in Liberal Arts and minors in Chemistry and Biology. I am an aspiring Optometrist and plan to apply for Optometry school in the years to come. I will serve a full-time Spanish speaking mission starting in June, 2016 and will return in December, 2017. I love sports and played tennis and basketball at the collegiate level while seeking my degree. I love learning and I really enjoy reading. I seek after any adventure that comes my way. I have three brothers and one sister and love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that the scriptures written in the Book of Mormon are so sincere and perfect that I know that no evil man could have written it. Joseph Smith translated the golden plates under God's direction so that The Book of Mormon could guide and teach us in these latter-days. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and restored that gospel back onto the Earth under God's direction. The Book of Mormon stands as another testament of Jesus Christ and brings you closer to God than ever before. This church teaches good values that could only help those who follow its teachings progress positively in their lives. It keeps people out of trouble and helps others understand what true happiness feels like. God is real. He sent His son Jesus Christ to atone for the sins of all mankind. He loves all of His children and wants nothing more for everyone to return to Him one day. I am Mormon because I know that families are forever and families can be linked for eternity if one lives their life accordingly. This is a gospel of love and unity. The Mormon church teaches accurate doctrine and is lead by a true Prophet of God today.

How I live my faith

Living one's faith can be really challenging at times and certainly is not always easy or the most popular. Temptations will always be there and the adversary will always be trying to lead you astray. I live my faith by striving to better myself everyday. If I make a mistake, I learn from it, so that I am always progressing on a forward slope. I do my best to be a good example to those around me and uphold the values that are ingrained in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I live these values even when I know that no body is watching. I know that every soul is of worth in the eyes of God. Everyone has a loving Father in Heaven that has unconditional love. If someone makes a mistake it does not make God love them any less. He loves everyone no matter their sin. I do my best to remember this and choose to also love people unconditionally no matter their misdeeds. Often God works through his other children and I serve him by being a tool in His hands and perform service for those who are in need of His help and love.
