Hi I'm Aaron

I grew up in Utah all my life. The Gospel brought me to my wife and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a lift mechanic at Canyons Ski Resort in Park City Utah. It is a very fun job. I met my wife in middle school through friends. We remained friends through High School and then lost touch for 13 years. In June of 2010 after saying a prayer to Heavenly Father which prompted my wife Kelli to find me she reconnected with me through Facebook. We picked right up where we left off combining her 5 boys and my one son on Sep. 23,2010. The Gospel has been key to keeping our relationship safe from the influences of the world. On Jan. 14,2012 of this year we sealed our marriage in the Draper Utah Temple. It was so amazing. We are still awaiting permission for all of our boys to go through with us. We started with 0 being able to go through and as of today we have got permission for 3 of them. We know if we do our part Heavenly Father will make all things possible. We are active in our ward and in boy scouts. My wife and I share this account and all of our online accounts to protect our marriage from the evils of the world. We are completely open and honest with everything. That means the good, the bad, and the ugly. We have overcome so much in our lives and grown closer together because of it. We love our Heavenly Father and all the blessings we see from him because of that love. We love being Latter Day Saint/Mormons.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of the feeling I get when I go to church. I am Mormon because of the peace it brings to my life. In my life I have overcome extreme abuse, broken homes, and broken relationships. My wife has overcome the death of her mother at a young age, broken relationships, broken homes, family members mental illness, and homelessness. We have been through some stuff. We know Heavenly Father brought us back to each other and that is priceless. We know when we follow the commandments and listen to the Holy Ghost no matter how hard the obstacles that we overcome we do so happy and with peace of mind. We have a little peace of Heaven here on earth because of following the commandments and the love that we share. Our family is the healthiest family we have ever been a part of and our boys are good boys. Why not be Mormon? The world is depressing and sad. Being Mormon gives you HOPE.

How I live my faith

Everyday! We never end a day without prayer or scripture. Our boys would not let us if we wanted to. It has been a true blessing. We have the Gospel Library on our phone and can do prayer and scripture everywhere we go. We pray at meals even if it is in the restaurant or fast food joint. My wife and I both have a love of service. We often joke that if we could just be millionaires we could take care of the world. We are far from that so we donate our time in our neighborhood. Kids of all ages know they are always welcome in our home. One of the neighbor boys because of his situation at home has become like an adopted son to us. He is welcome any time any hour for any reason. My father often jokes that we should put a sign above our door that says "Askwith Half Way House" because there are times when we have boys or more in our home. I have a calling in the 11 year old scouts and we volunteer to help in other troops as well. My wife has a calling in Achievement Days and helping with the Relief Society Events. She volunteers for funerals and about anything that comes up. We have found that service brings happiness to our lives. It helps you to grow and have love, empathy, kindness, compassion, and understanding for fellow men. We have gone though our trials and we are real about sharing our experiences and not judging others. We believe that everyone is trying and even in a matter a 5 seconds you can be a light in others lives.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Aaron
Family is the most important relationship on this earth. It is under attack on a daily basis. With divorce rates at 50% or higher you find broken and blended families everywhere. We have a blended family. In our relationship Heavenly Father is apart of a three way relationship between my wife, me and Heavenly Father. We are happier, healthier, and stronger then we have ever been in our life. Following the Word of Wisdom is key as it is the foundation of a strong family. Obedience to the Word of Wisdom is key to keeping your family strong. Following the Gospel Standard which we read as a family nightly is key to building strong families and strong individuals. Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Aaron
My personal feeling on this is that women are born in to this world with a special spirit about them. The Priesthood is the closest us men can get to that special spirit. Heavenly Father knows what he is doing. My wife is a calming force that help me, directs me, and guides me through this troubled world. Women is why this Gospel is so great. There service and willingness to drop everything and serve others in amazing. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Aaron
This is pretty simple... when times are hard it is our faith that keeps us together. We know Heavenly Father brought us back to each other so you wouldn't ever give up on Heavenly Father so why would you give up on his blessings? We love each other so much and are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for guiding us to each other. Faith teaches you that you can endure many things. He never said it would be easy he only said it would be worth it. We must do our part. Having Faith gives us hope of a brighter day. Show more Show less
