Hi I'm Jackson

I´m a poor college student, an aspiring chef, a goal setter, and I´m a Mormon!

About Me

I am a student at Pacific Lutheran University and its the best place on earth! I play football and track and love the outdoors. ¡Hablo español! i tambe mi sa papia e papiamentu! If I can find a spare minute I am at the river trying my luck with fishing, or learning a new song on the guitar. I try to watch every Mariner´s game possible and am NOT a fair weather fan. I love the Huskies, I love to dance though I am not the best at it, and I love country music.

Why I am a Mormon

In the end, I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord´s true church, or else I wouldn´t be part of it. Christ organized His church a certain way for a reason, and through the persecution of the early saints, that church was destroyed, but through His love for us He has restored it and we have it today! What a blessing! But you don´t have to ask me about it, just get on your knees and ask God in prayer in prayer to see if its true. If anybody knows its Him right? That´s all I had to do to see that it was true.

How I live my faith

Faith is definitely a point of action, not just something that I have in my head. I have learned that as I exercise and live the things that Christ has taught, I draw nearer to Him and I can receive all the blessings promised to me. Though I am nowhere close to perfect, we have all received the commission to be perfect, even as our Father that is in heaven is perfect. We cannot say that our goal is anything less than perfection, once we lower the bar a little bit, we can start to justify our actions and its a slippery slope from there. Christ expects us to do our best and He knows that we can! So let´s do it! Right now I just do my best to learn and live the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ through daily study of the scriptures, prayer, consistent church attendance and doing my best to serve others. Its doing the little things that is important and what helps me to progress a little bit more every day.
