Hi I'm Mat

I am from Los Angeles, California, USA and my family has been members of the church for a long time. I love saying I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to try new things, and so I say I am a Jack of all trades and master of nothing. I have enjoyed Home Building, Rock Climbing, Backpacking, Mountain Biking, Woodworking, Welding, Scuba Diving, Pole Vaulting, and Flying. My wife and I love to spend time with our four sons, however, since none of them live at home, we see them usually on Sunday when they join us for dinner.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ makes sense to me. I am happiest when I am trying to live my life as my Savior lived his. I feel that God has a plan for me in this life. I recognize that I am a flawed human being and my strength alone is not enough to comprehend all the challenges which life brings me. I find that by doing my best in living the teachings of Jesus Christ, I can make the most out of each day I live. When I am doing my best I want to help others find happiness in their lives also.

How I live my faith

I have volunteered for a number of positions in my community and my local congregation. I have served on our city council and planning commission. I have served as a Scout Master for our Boy Scout troop. I have taught Sunday School and served as a local lay minister for our congregation. I look forward to opportunities to serve others and share the blessings God has generously given me and my family. I look forward to our Sunday meetings especially as I receive renewed strength and peace as I worship with my wife.
