Hi I'm Zipporah

I'm a violin teacher, a salior, a Texan, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a violin teacher and started my own studio. I love teaching and sharing with others what I know. I love High Adventure type things and sailing is the best out of all of them. I'm a Sea Scout (that's part of the Boy Scouts) and a Girl Scout. I love my family and spend as much time as I can with them. I am serving a Mission in California Irvine and I love every second of it. I went to college before I left and I enjoy learning new things, more things for me to teach!!!

Why I am a Mormon

God told Moses "I AM THAT I AM" well it is true God is. I know that he lives and he has a Son. Jesus Christ who is the Son of the Living God and helps us through our everyday problems. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know this becuase I have read and continue to read the Book of Mormon. I know that it is the word of God and that he wants us to understand Him clearly with no miss communication. I know that the Book of Mormon was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith and that as a young boy he saw with his own eyes God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know that with out this knownledge I would not have been able to go through live with such a positive atitude. The Atonment (or suffering) of Jesus Christ is real. If we let Him in the door he can help us through the best of times and the worst of times. There is nothing better in life than to know that you are not alone. There is always help. From Jesus Christ through prayer and personal revealation to a modern Prophet who has been called of God. Today that is Thomas S. Monson. I know that "a man [can] get nearer to God by abiding by [the] percepts [of the Book of Mormon], than by any other book." (Joseph Smith) I invite you to test it and see for yourself if it is true. I have and that is how I know and that is also why I will always be a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? Many people would ask this but you see that it is something that you become a part of and don't really think about living it. Everyday when I make a right choice or say that I wont do a certain thing because I know that is not the right thing to do. In these things I live my faith. Faith is an action word you have to do something with it. Out with the scouts and I leave a campout or sail early so that I can be home for Sunday. Making sure that I play (voilin) songs that I know are appropriate and defenatly don't play on Sundays, which dosen't always make everyone happy. Though there comes a time and a place in life when you just can't make everyone happy. Though others can respect your descion to life what you know to be true. There are many ways to live my faith and I think the biggest way is following the commandments of God and being an example to those who are looking for one, also those who are not looking. Everyone sees!

The Book of Mormon is the proof of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and his divinity. "We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon to ponder in their hearts the message it contains and then to ask God the Eternal Father in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost." (introduction to the Book of Mormon) Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Easy Read the Book of Mormon, ponder its message and then ask God in the name of Christ if it is true believing that you will get an answer from God, through the Holy Ghost. As you do this you will gain faith that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and that there is a prophet today and we should follow him. That all the Commandments are for our benifit and that we should keep them. If the Book of Mormon is true then all of this is true also. Show more Show less
