Hi I'm Candi

I have been married for 13 years to my best friend and am a stay at home mother of four and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spend the majority of my time raising four wonderful children, two boys and two girls. I love them with all my heart and hope and pray that they will grow up to be healthy, happy adults who embrace life, knowledge, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was raised by two wonderful people and have been a member of the church all my life. They are great examples to me and are still a very large part of my life and I hope to give my children all that they gave me. I love to bake and we almost always have some sort of cookie or goodie for my family to enjoy. I do try to keep it healthy, but still tasty, and am always looking for new recipes that we will enjoy. In my free time, I also like to read good books and sew and quilt. I have made quilts for 3 out of 4 of my children and I'm currently working on the fourth one. This year, my youngest will be starting kindergarten so I am going to be joining the workforce for the first time in about 8 and a half years as a part time substitute teacher. I'm a little bit nervous, but I know that all of my experience teaching children through this wonderful church will help me as I embark on this new and exciting experience.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church all my life. Before I was born, my parents, who went to church in their teens, had become inactive, but decided that they wanted the gospel in their lives and started going to church again. They were sealed in the temple and raised my four sisters and me in the gospel. I know that this church is true because I live it and see the joy it brings to my life. I have a testimony of the law of tithing. We as members of the church have been asked to pay tithing of ten percent of all our increase and have been promised blessings if we will do this. I have seen that as my husband and I pay our tithing, we are blessed. I am able to stay at home with our children instead of working and we are able to make it work with only one income. I know that we have a true prophet who leads and guides this church and that Jesus Christ is at the head of it. Our prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, tells us the things Jesus would have us know to help us be happy and return to live with him again. Our goal is to be an eternal family living with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that they truly do live and know and love each and every one of us. There have been times in my life when I have needed a very specific blessing and it came. He is so aware of us and what we need, we only need ask and have faith. My children are learning also that they too can turn to Heavenly Father in times of need and he will answer their prayers. I am so grateful for that and to know that he is watching over them, too.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the Stake Primary President in our Stake. The Primary is the organization our church has for children ages 18 months to 11 years. My job is to help all the teachers and leaders understand their calling and help them teach the children in our Stake. We also have Sports Programs for the children in our Stake and a good portion of my time in the Fall and Spring goes to watching them learn the fundamentals of Soccer and Baseball with their peers and families. My daughter played her first season of Primary Baseball in the Spring and it was so much fun to watch her learn and have fun. My family is currently reading the Book of Mormon together for the second time. We have been reading the scriptures every day since November of 2010, when my second youngest was in Kindergarten. He picked up reading so quick as we read together as a family, and my youngest, who will begin kindergarten this year, is already reading due in large part to our scripture study. I love the scriptures and I notice that when I have personal scripture study as well as reading with our family, I can handle the stresses of the day so much better. I am a happier person and I see the world a little differently. My day goes so much better when I start off with the scriptures and I'm so grateful for them in my life. The Book of Mormon is true!
