Hi I'm Travis

I grew up in Idaho without ever growing a single potato. I'm a full-time student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the beautiful mountains of Northern Idaho, and the windy flats of Southeastern Idaho. I'm very active and social. One of the great joys in my life is to be outdoors with family and friends doing all the things I love, which is everything. I'm currently a full-time student and have rediscovered a passion for learning. I have a wonderful family and some truly great friends, they mean the world to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because each and every day that I wake up, kneel before my Savior and bare my soul, I feel an overwhelming sense of peace and love that no one but my Heavenly Father can bring me. I am a Mormon because it is only through the principles taught by Jesus Christ and testified of in the Book of Mormon and Bible that my family can grow together in this life, and be together in the life to come. I am a Mormon because God so loved the world that he sacrificed His only begotten Son, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a testament to that sacrifice. I am a Mormon because I love to serve, I love to grow, I love learn, and I love to be happy. I am a Mormon because whoever you are, and whatever your situation is, I love you, and I hope that my example can play some small part in bringing you to a closer relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

It is by and through my faith that I have developed a love of service. I find great happiness in unrecognized service in my home, in my community, and in my church. I think it is very important to teach and lead by example and have had some opportunity to put this into practice as a Ward Prayer Coordinator and as a Ward Missionary. I am currently preparing to serve a full-time mission, it is the best way I know how to give thanks to my Savior for all he has done to bring happiness into my life.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Mormons are not required to serve missions. However, as in all things we are encouraged to follow the example of Jesus Christ. Christ was the ultimate example of selfless service. Many Mormons, both men and women, choose to follow that example and serve 2 year missions. It is through their inspired work that many people around the world, of all different ethnicities and backgrounds, are able to develop a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
