Hi I'm Christopher Gomm

I'm a mountain man, tomahawk thrower, adventurer, and I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There is something amazing about being outside; amongst the natural wonders and beauty of God's many creations. I love the mountains! I love all forms of outdoor recreation, and I especially love doing those things with my friends and loved ones. I enjoy everything from kayaking and rock climbing to outdoor survival and mountaineering. I also love the old fashion way of life. I Volunteer as a living history interpreter for state parks. I portray a mountain man from the 1840s, and teach outdoor skills and tell stories to the general public. I even own a full size teepee. I love my family, and I love being with them. One day I would like to own a family adventure camp, for families, and also for children with disabilities, to overcome obstacles and strengthen relationships through ropes courses and team building activities. I have also always wanted to have a family Christmas tree farm.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I have always been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since I was born. Growing up I relied a lot on my parents testimony of the church, but I had never really found out for myself, if the church was true. I went through some trials in my life where I needed to know if God...was even there. One night I prayed, earnestly wanting to know. After what seemed to be a few hours of fervent prayer, I stopped and listened... suddenly I felt a warm, comforting feeling come over me. I knew God was there. Later, I had the opportunity to go to Israel with my dad. Through personal experience I gained a witness that Jesus Christ is the Savior and redeemer of the world, when I was in the garden of Gethsemane. Later I gained a witness the same way, that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, and that he sealed his work with is own life, so when he lived, he was a prophet and he died a prophet of God. Jesus Christ established his Church once again through Joseph Smith, and all the blessings and ordinances of the gospel have been brought back to their original fullness, as in Jesus Christ's day. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live today better than yesterday, and live tomorrow better than today. Every thing we do in life is one small step at at time. I want to be like my savior, Jesus Christ, and I know that will take a while. I have found in my own experience that if I pray every morning and every night as well as read my scriptures daily, my day is better and I see myself grow. I also go to the temple as often as I can, so I can feel closer to my Savior and to God. There has never been a time that I haven't left the temple feeling spiritually stronger, more resolve to good, or look around and see more clearly, the eternal perspective on what this life is all about and who we are. I try to be a good son. I do my best make my parents, and also my Heavenly Father pleased, with who I am.
