Hi I'm Becca

I'm a best friend to my husband, a sister, a daughter, a student. I love to help people smile.

About Me

I've often had "too much on my plate" and have loved it. From dancing, to singing, with juggling multiple jobs and school, student governments and other service opportunities, I've been blessed to have many opportunities to learn and love and grow. I have been actively involved in the community and my school, from teaching clogging and community plays, to student government at my college. I went to India when I was 17 to help in Orphanages, and that changed my life forever. I learned more about the Savior, Jesus Christ, and his love for us in those weeks than I ever had before. I'm studying Music Education, with an emphasis of Voice and Piano. I love to teach, especially children. I do my best to bring light and joy into the lives of those I meet. I met my husband in college, and instantly felt like I had known him my whole life. He is my best friend. Together we laugh and play, we reach and grow. Having been recently married, we are a happy family of two, but we are certain to grow in time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who were generations of Mormons. This started my introduction into the Church, but I stayed Mormon, because when I was a young girl, I prayed to know what church was true. As a human being, it's easy to be pulled in many different directions. I needed to know for myself, I didn't want to rely solely on my parents. I was young, and I prayed. When I prayed to know for myself, I had an overwhelming feeling of joy and purpose and peace that I cannot deny, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the earth today. After that initial feeling of truth, I have had many more witnesses to keep my testimony burning. I am a Mormon, because the gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy, and I know because of those personal witnesses, that it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by seeking to serve others. The song, "Because I have been given much, I too must give," stated it perfectly. Jesus Christ gave me his life, so that I might live again. It is my duty to share that with those I meet. I often help the young women, ages 12-18, in my church. We laugh and play, and learn of the Savior and His love. I teach them what I know of Jesus Christ and His gospel. I teach them of the Restoration of the Church through Joseph Smith, and of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ. We share together of how our families help us in our daily lives, how our parents help teach and guide us. I help them grow ever closer to their Heavenly Father by sharing what I was blessed to learn when I was in their shoes. One other way I try to share my faith, is by smiling saying hello to people. Whether they be strangers, or people I know, smiling and saying hello is a sure way to help them feel remembered and to share the Saviors love. Everyone wants to be loved, so why not share a warm smile and greeting?
