Hi I'm Tanner

I'm a happy person, going to Utah State, absolutely lovin' it, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love skiing, dancing, just having some fun. I love to make friends, laugh, and be happy. I'm going to Utah State University, and I love it! I'm studying Finance, but I'm going to medical school. I know, I'm a hot mess. I come from an amazing family. I have 3 rambunctious younger brothers (hooligans, hoodlums, all of'm), and a mom and dad that I know love me. They're the best, and I love'm. I grew up in Mesa, Arizona until I was about 14, and all of the sudden, my family up and decided to move to New Zealand. We lived in Timaru for a year, which was an amazing experience. We then moved to Logan, Utah, which is pretty much the chillest place in the world. It's been a good life. I recently returned from serving a mission in Kennewick, Washington, which was the happiest, amazing-est (?) two years of my life. There is nothing that makes me happier than helping others to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to continue on in this church because I know and feel it is true. I've been in this church my entire life, but don't think I didn't ever question it. I definitely had to come to know for my self that this church was the real deal. By reading in the Book of Mormon, I've had so many experiences with the Holy Ghost, that the message that Heavenly Father is trying to send me is undeniable. This church is Christ's church, and the Book of Mormon is the word of God. As well, by following the precepts taught in the LDS Church, I've been able to access the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and feel the power of His sacrifice wash my sins away. I can say that being active in the LDS Church has brought me closer to Jesus than anything else in my life, and that, ultimately, is what I aim for in my life.

How I live my faith

I love being a disciple of Jesus Christ. My faith in Him isn't just a passive belief, but it means that I actually follow Him, and that has brought me true happiness and contentment in my life. I mean, there are tons of things that are super fun in the world, but living the Gospel brings true happiness. Jesus has eliminated a lot of my bad qualities and taken away guilt and shame through repentance. Because Christ took it away, I'm able to progress and move on, and I just love that. Recently, I served a 2-yr mission. It is the best thing I have ever done, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Bringing others unto Christ is simply what has brought the the most joy. Spreadin' the word! It makes a real difference in my life and others' lives. It makes me so happy to have seen others accept Christ into their lives and, in the process, I came to know Him better. I did it, because I love Jesus! I'm attempting to keep with that thread now. I seriously try to do what He would do. That's the hard part of being a Christian. I always try and help those that are less fortunate than me, in anyway possible. I try and love everyone like He would. I do service as part of a couple three different groups. I feel like that is where real discipleship is at: serving, loving, helping... I also read from the scriptures every day, pray often, share the good news with others as much as possible, attend the temple, and do family history work (which is surprisingly addicting). I'm hoping to keep the Spirit and Jesus Christ as the main influences in my life.
