Hi I'm Brooke

I live in Southern California, serving a mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina! I am a Mormon and proud of it!

About Me

I am 19 years old. I love to dance, sing, and make people laugh. I also love to play tennis. I sing everywhere I go. I grew up right next to the beach so I love swimming and all the animal life. I currently attend BYUI, but will soon serve my mission in the beautiful Buenos Aires West, Argentina.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe so strongly that this church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I read it everyday and always feel the Holy Ghost with a warmth in my heart and a comfort that helps my challenges. I can't get enough of the gospel and I can testify that this is the ONLY way for happiness. You may think you're lonely, you may think you can't do anything. Believe me, I have been there. But I know now that you never CAN be lonely. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered so much for not only our sins, but our weaknesses, trials, sicknesses, and afflictions. It caused a God to tremble, to bleed from every pore. It is my testimony that He did this out of love. He loves us more than anyone could ever love us and I am forever in debt to Him. He saw my face, my name, and felt everything that I have felt. Everything that bothers me, everything that hurts, everything that I think I can't handle, He has done the same. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior so much. I know I can repent of all my sins and be forgiven. Though forgiving myself is tough, but he will provide all that is needful. Everything happens for a reason and we must trust He understands and knows what is best for us. I know He has a plan for each and every one of us. I know this to be true because when I pray to Him I feel a peace that only He can give. He will ALWAYS answer our prayers, not always as we expect, but He does answer them. I have a very strong testimony in the Plan of Salvation, that my main goal is to reach exaltation to meet with my Heavenly Father again. I know families can be together forever because of the temple. I know the temple is a sacred place and is the House of the Lord. I know He Lives! I know the standards of the church are given by the Prophets which speak the words of God. Trust in him, follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost, and believe you are a step away from salvation.

How I live my faith

I live my faith several different ways. I go to school everyday with the knowledge of God's love for me and exemplify that love to my peers. I answer questions all over (via text message, school, facebook, instagram, snapchat) with answers of why this church is the true church. I also go to church every Sunday desiring to learn more. I read my scriptures everyday, hoping for revelation, along with faithful prayers talking with my Father in Heaven. My faith grows everyday, a little bit more than yesterday. The fourth article of faith states that the principles and ordinances of the gospel are: faith, repentance, baptism, and the gift of the Holy Ghost. Faith is so important to our salvation.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Joseph Smith founded this church, but we don't worship him. A lot of people ask me if we believe in Jesus Christ which is funny because its in our name "The church of JESUS CHRIST of latter-day saints". I believe strongly that Joseph Smith was appointed by God to restore the true church again and that his writings (D&C) are also true. That he was a prophet and shared the words of God.
