Hi I'm Samuel

I was born and raised in Utah. I love to run and play soccer as well as study and learn at school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Samuel and I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, speaking Spanish in Oklahoma. I love to run, read, learn, and have fun. I have run cross country and track and I really enjoyed it. I love to play Ultimate Frisbee and soccer. I have read all sorts of books, ranging from fantasy to historical fiction to classics to non fiction. I am also a student at a university with no idea what to study yet. I enjoy math working with other people and will be trying out the accounting program after my mission. I love to talk with my friends and have a lot of fun in our activities. I come from a family of 7. I am the oldest and only brother to four younger sisters. I love my family a lot and enjoy spending time with them and having a lot of fun! One of our favorite pasttimes is playing Pickle-ball, a game played on a court similar to a tennis court but with the rules and equipment of a large ping-pong game. My family is my greatest blessing on earth and I am really greatful for them!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love this gospel and I know that it is true! I feel the love of Christ in my life and his gospel blesses me with the knowledge of why I am here and what I should be doing in my life. I feel that God is watching out for me every single day of my life and this was made even more evident as I continued to attend church and institute where I attended school. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live! They care about what we do in this life. They want to hear how we are doing through prayer and what a blessing it is to me to know that I can communicate with them through prayer and recieve answers through the Holy Ghost. I know that through the Holy Ghost we recieve feelings of warmth, comfort, and peace as well as thoughts and ideas that are answers to our questions. Life can be really difficult at times but with through faith in Jesus Christ, miracles happen. I know that the Lord will bless us and strengthen us throughout our lives but especially in times of need. Anything is possible with the Lord. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. The words of the book bring me closer to knowing and being like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have read and prayed about the Book of Mormon and recieved an answer for myself that it is true and the blessing of continually reading it are evident in my life. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. He did see God the Father and His son in the grove of trees near his house. The Spirit has born witness to me that this is true and I know it! The good feelings I get when I share and hear the Joseph Smith story are evidence to me that this chruch is true. Because of this knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel, I desire to share it with all the people of the world. The happiness it brings to my life is undescribable and I want every person, every family, to have the knowledge that I have so that they may partake of the eternal blessings of God and one day, live with him again!

How I live my faith

I currently live my faith by teaching the gospel to everyone around me. I love to serve the people around me and help them to know of Christ's immense love for each and every person. I strive to read the Book of Mormon every day and pray continually to my Heavenly Father. I do my best to obey His commandments and sometimes I fall short and make mistakes. When this happens, I turn to the Savior and His Atonement and repent of my mistakes because I know that I can and will be forgiven as I come unto God and make a renewed effort to follow Him even more than before. Before my mission, I served as a family history coordinator at college. This means that I learned the how-to's in family history work and indexing and then taught the members of my ward and student community how to do it. I loved every minute of it and it really made the scripture in Malachi evident, that the hearts of the children will be turned to their fathers. Before that, I was a hometeacher, teaching families in the neighborhood the words of the prophets and the gospel and helping them with anything that they needed done. I loved them like they were part of my own family. I also was a leader of my youth group in church and helped the youth strenghten their faith in Christ by attending to their needs and teaching them the gospel. I have tried to live as Christ lived. I try to serve those around me and help anyone I see in need. I look for opportunities to care for others and help them to be happy and feel the peace that the Savior brings into our lives. I try to dedicate every single day to the Lord and do the things He needs me to do to bless his children. We are His children. He wants us to feel joy in our lives and I find that joy most when I serve others. This life is the time to prepare to meet God and to better ourselves continually to become like him. I try to think of this every day and live the way so that when I meet Him, He will know me and with a smile on His face, welcome me home.
