Hi I'm Jonah

I have a passion for music and the gospel that has led to many fulfilling actives both inside and outside of the church.

About Me

I'm a university student who always enjoys sharing the gospel with people I meet.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was raised in the church, I have questioned it for myself. I have not merely stayed because of the traditions of my parents; doing so would require what many would call unreasonable effort. Indeed, it is not an easy thing to stay pure in a world that is constantly pushing the boundaries on moral conduct. That is why I decided in my youth that the church must either be right in all aspects, or wrong in many. I studied the scriptures and prayed to know if this church is true. I did not receive and answer right away, but after many countless hours of pondering, payer, and sincere study of the scriptures and the words of the prophets, I came to realize that this church is true.

How I live my faith

As I youth, I am surrounded by many people who do not share my standard or beliefs. This is why I begin each day with a short scripture study which will help be remember that I am a child of God. I also sing hymns quietly when I walk alone to help keep the spirt with me throughout the day.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Jonah
"By this shall men know, ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." -LDS Hymns #308 The welfare services of the Church perform the same purpose that Christ did when he walked on the earth. The services help those in need, and make sure that the goods given (monetarily or other wise) go directly to those who need it. There are no paid positions within the church itself, and we believe that all that is given unto the needy should be received by the needy, and not taken by administration fees. Service and work are important in the welfare system. The Church also provides ways to teach those who are in need how to be independent. Rather than feeding the needy fish, we teach them how to fish. By doing so, they will not only be fed for a day, but instead for a lifetime. Show more Show less
