Hi I'm Megan

I was raised in Utah. I am almost done with my degree in Exercise Science and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 21 yr old college girl. I love to go boating, camping, tumbling, hiking, people watching and I am a total gym rat. My favorite area of the gym is to lift weights especially with my guy friends. A unique skill I acquired in college is Aerial Silks. I climb fabric and do stunts and tricks in the air, generally 20 to 45 feet high. (Good thing I'm not afraid of heights!) I was a gymnast for 14 years and so aerial silks helps me cope with the emptiness and boring life style that came with gymnastics "retirement." I am the second to oldest of 5 children. My family is very close and supportive of one another. My parents have always trusted us, as long as we did not break that trust we could live a happy and fairly unrestricted life. We had rules and curfews, that were reasonable and my parents provided a way for us to make a lot of decisions on our own or as a family. I found it was easier to learn from others mistakes than to make them myself. I have many friends of all religions and back grounds and struggles and they are great people. My friends would describe me as outgoing, easy to talk to and connect with, non judgemental, and a girl who sticks to her values and to truth.

Why I am a Mormon

My life is much more complete when I live the way God would want me to. The rules, guidelines, and standards i've learned do not chain you down. It's sin that chains us down, it makes us feel like we are worthless and have no potential. I tried to seek for happiness through media and relationships and was always left empty. I learned that the most joy and peace came when I knelt and prayed to my Heavenly Father. He has taught me how important his children are in his eyes and how much He specifically loves me. In studying the scriptures, we can see time and time again how God calls to his children and how they are blessed as they keep his commandments. It wasn't until recently that I finally understood why God has given us commandments. It is the only way that we can show God we are submitting our will to His and it is the only way that God can bless us. The more commandments the more blessings we have access to. I am a mormon because I have felt the blessings that come into my life as I follow Christ teachings. The Holy Ghost has testified to me the truth through feelings of peace that this is Christ Church on earth today and with in the doctrines that are taught we can learn the fullness of the truth. The doctrine is simple: Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repentence, Baptism with Priesthood Authority, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost and lastly we must Endure to the End. The heart of the Doctrine is Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and Redeemer and I am forever indebted to the sacrafice that He went through for me. I want to strive to live my life each day so that I will be worthy to one day return to live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I live my life in harmony with the teachings of the LDS church. There is something different and easier in life when I do what the Lord has asked us to do. I attend church each Sunday, it is what sets my week on the right path and if there are church activities for the week then I'll go to those as well. A favorite of mine is the churches Seminary and Institute programs, the teachers help me to understand more of the doctrine and how it applies to my life. Young Single Adults, 21 or older, is also where I feel most comfortable and where I have found many friends with my same values and standards. As of June, 2012 I left my home and life in Utah to serve an LDS mission. This was a choice I made on my own. I love to share the knowledge that I have about lifes purpose and and how we can be happy NOW. It took me many years to realize that God loves me so much that He provided a plan so that I could progress in this life and one day be able to receive all the blessings that he has in store for me. Once I learned this for myself I had a desire to share my faith with others. It is the best decision I have ever made and has enriched and blessed my life in ways that will effect my family and generations to come. I truly believe this.
