Hi I'm Jacob Clayton Hales

I love playing and watching sports. I love spending time with those I love. I can't eat bread. And most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young man with way too much energy! I love to have fun and spend time with people. I have spent one year in college at the greatest university in the world.. The University of Utah! I'm currently serving a mission in Jacksonville Florida. I have been a member of the church my whole life. I am a huge sports fan! I know way too much about sports that will not benefit me in my life in any way besides my own entertainment! But I love it anyways and enjoy getting into it. My favorite sports include football, basketball, and baseball. I played baseball for my high school. I also like playing golf for a hobby, yes it is a sport. I just love getting out on the course and taking a walk on the freshly cut grass. I have six brothers and sisters. I love them very much!! I love spending time with them! We share many laughs that I enjoy very much, but also I know they would do anything for me if I ever need anything from them! I dont know where I would be without them! One funny thing about me that everyone makes fun of me because I can't eat food with Gluten because I have a disease called Celiac disease. It can be rough, but I laugh about it and embrace it!

Why I am a Mormon

There are millions of reasons why I've decided to be a Mormon. We had a sister who passed away about 9 years ago. She was 16 years old. I have never seen someone who had so much faith and love in Jesus Christ. She was truly wise beyond her years. Her passing away was a very tough time. But I know that with our family being members of the Church this experience brought the rest of us closer together because we know that we will see our sister again someday. And since her passing was really hard on us, we relied on each other and the gospel of Jesus Christ to help us feel our Saviors love for us and our sister. One reason is because of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. The way that I have now truly been converted and have a strong testimony of this gospel is by reading the Book of Mormon. After reading the book all the way through from start to end, I couldn't deny its truth and teachings. The spirit I felt as I read can't be described! I felt a peace in my life that I have never felt before. I had a lot more of a positive outlook on life and had so much joy. The reason I felt this way was the Lord filled me with the Holy Ghost as I read from the Book of Mormon. He wanted me to know it's true. And through the Book of Mormon I have continued to feel peace and joy in my life and have seen my life positively impacted by its power and truthfulness.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith..... Well I'm literally living my faith all day everyday! I do this by serving as a full-time missionary of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am currently serving in Jacksonville, Florida! It is a great time! As a missionary, I have devoted 2 years of my life to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ into peoples lives. You may ask, "Why are you so devoted that you would give up 2 years to go and talk with people you don't know on the other side of the country, who might as well be from another planet??" Well I do it because I love my Savior Jesus Christ! I have seen the joy, peace, love, and happiness that His gospel has brought into my life and I want to share that with other people. I want them to see how the gospel can bring them closer to their Heavenly Father. I want people to feel the peace that I feel about my sisters passing with their loved ones they have lost. I want them to know, like I know, that this loved one still lives! And that they can and will see them again! I want people to gain faith in Jesus Christ and come to see how through His atonement they can lose the pain of sin and release the guilt they feel and rely on the Savior to take those sins upon Him through repentance and baptism. That is the way to true happiness and I want others to feel that and know that. But even not as a missionary I continue to live my faith by making the right decisions and trying to set a good example for others.
