Hi I'm Tyler Mitchell

I grew up in Chicago Illinois. I cannot wait to go on my 2 year full time mission to Provo Utah, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the third child out of 4 children. My parents are still happily married and on there 26th year of marriage. I am able to be blessed by being in a ward where I have 7 young men (my age) who are mostly still active today in the church. I LOVE to sing, dance, and act. I am a part of all my schools plays and musicals. luckily I don't have to do it alone because all the guys at my church also try to participate in theater as well. And because of them, the whole school knows our standards of not cursing and making sure content is appropriate. I also have two brothers (one older and one younger) and an older sister. We now get along wonderfully. We love to play board games together (such as Puerto Rico, Settlers of Catan, Dominion, and most recently Power Grid)

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I love the wonderful feeling that touches everyones souls. It doesn't matter what religion you are, you can still feel the spirit no matter what. However, listening to the beliefs of my friends really catch my interest, because I notice that we are not much different. however we still are not the same. But by being a Mormon since "the beginning of time" I haven't been able to really search a lot of other religions. However, I have been able to feel the same spirit while they express their beliefs which is incredible. And that spirit is always in my church building. The Holy Spirit has guided me through my life, keeping me safe ever since I was young, and now that i'm older he forgives me for everything that I do wrong, and I know he wont just leave me all the sudden, because he will help me eventually reach my Heavenly Father once again, and without him I wouldn't be able to step closer to live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing it with others. I love expressing my knowledge with others. Of course I go to youth activities, church meetings, and seminary. But the real test is when people have questions about the Mormon religion. I am not the "perfect Mormon". I don't study the scriptures 2 hours a day, or prepare lessons for youth every sunday, but I try to learn from my parents, prophets, The Book of Mormon, Strength of Youth, and the "Preach My Gospel" book. With these materials I am able to understand and fully explain the answers to the questions people might have.
