Hi I'm Korby

I am an Entrepreneur. I live 6 blocks from the beach. I enjoy extreme sports and playing soccer. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 25 year old single adult living in Huntington Beach, CA. I grew up in Saint George Utah where my parents and 3 siblings and their spouses still live. I have 4 nephews and a niece who I miss like crazy but get to see throughout the year. Growing up I fell in love with soccer and played competitively from 6th grade through College years. I also enjoyed wakeboarding, skimboarding, snowboarding and rock climbing. I have operated a mobile detailing business for the past 4 years and have enjoyed the experiences and people that I've met through doing it. I have a passion for having fun under the sun with good friends, anything to do with water sports I love. I am currently trying to improve my surfing skills.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into a family that was already part of the church and very active members, I am a Mormon because I took the challenge when I was 15 yrs old to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. They say that if the Book of Mormon is true then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church of God here on earth containing the fullness of the gospel. Although I was happy with what I had been taught by teachers and leaders in the church, I knew that I needed to know for myself in order to build a sustaining testimony for my life. So I began to read The Book of Mormon from the beginning to find out for myself if what I had been engaged in for so long and planned to follow forever was true or NOT. It took some time to get to this point because of how happy my family was and how smooth my life had been up to this point. I was never really challenged by life to dig deep in my soul for any resolve. But the leaders of the church teach everyone that it is wise for them to find out for THEMSELVES if the Book of Mormon is true and that if the church that Joseph Smith restored is in fact the same church that Jesus Christ restored during his ministry on earth. I read all 531 pages of the Book of Mormon and then prayed sincerely to my Heavenly Father in asking if it was true or not. The answer swiftly followed my plea and I was overwhelmed with an intangible force that over came my entire body as if

How I live my faith

As a christian I try to emulate the attributes Christ had during his earthly ministry. I live my life knowing that the commandments of God are real laws of the universe, just as real as gravity is a law that we are all very familiar with. I know by experience of trial and error, that our Heavenly Father (God) rewards us when we obey his commandments and when i don't obey his commandments my life seems to be much more chaotic and challenging. I chose to serve a 2 year mission for my church back in 2005-2007. I was called of God through his living prophet to serve as a full time missionary in Buenos Aires Argentina. Those 2 years were the most challenging years of my life and also the most rewarding years of my life. That experience greatly impacted my life in a very positive way and has helped me stay faithful to God during rough times. The Gospel of Jesus Christ to me, is serving others. We become God's hands here on earth when we do his will and help others. I have experienced the divine encounters with others that are praying for help in their life situations and I have been able to be there in the right place at the right time to fulfill their plea. But this only happens when I am a diligent follower of his commandments. I have always had the opportunity to serve my time and talents within the church and it has helped me grow and develop in ways that I never would have otherwise. I gain strength from regular scripture study, sincere prayer, up-lifting music and being surrounded by the great people within the church that are my same age and live with the same standards. I know that these standards (or modern day commandments) are directly correlated to our happiness. I love the church because it is a great culture of positive people fulfilling a work that is much greater than anyone one of us alone. I believe we are spirit beings having a physical-body experience here on earth.
