Hi I'm Sister Mei En Huang

I am a Taiwanese. I study Social Work. I'm a Mormon missionary.

About Me

I grew up in a small island, Taiwan, which is located at the west shore of the Pacific. Mandarin Chinese is my mother tongue. My parents were both returned LDS missionaries, who met each other in the church and were sealed in Taiwan Taipei temple. My father was an elementary school teacher and my mother has been a housewife since she got married. I have one younger sister, who is eighteen years old. I love music. I play the piano, the guitar, and the ukulele. I like to sing as well. I study Social Work in BYUH and hope to dedicated myself in social services in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents brought me to the church since I was little. I started to learn the gospel gradually. In Primary, the organization for children, I learned the stories of Jesus Christ and the stories in the Book of Mormon. I sang hymns and memorized scriptures. In Young Women, I learned the the expectation that my Heavely Father has for women. Besides, I went to the Early Morning Seminary every day. The Seminary strenthened my knowledge about the scriptures and my testimony about the church. Moreover, I attened the Youth Conferences which were held for the youth of the church every summer. I got to know other youth who had the same faith as I did. They are all great examples to me. In BYUH, the church university, I had abundant opportunities to learn the gospel, and to serve others. My testimony became stronger and stronger. I know the church is true. It was restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith according to the priesthood power from Jesus Christ. I know the Book of Mormon is true. It is written for the people in our time. It testified that Jesus is Christ. Reading the Book of Mormon daily helps me live the gospel. I believe Jesus Christ is a resurrected being and is our Savior. Through His atonement, everyone can become like God. I will do my best to be a good example of a member of the church and to share the gospel to as many people as I can.

How I live my faith

I had been a pianist in my ward for years. When I was in BYUH, my church calling was a teacher in Relief Society, an organization for women who are adults. I taught gospel to the girls who were around my age because I attended a single adult ward. Right now, I am a teacher in Sunday school. I teach the investigaters and the new members Gospel Priciples. After I turned eighteen, becoming a member of Relief Society, I started to fulfill my visiting teaching assignments. I love visiting teaching, in which I always learn a lot from my companion and the sisters that I visit teaching. It is an wonderful opportunity to get to know, look after, and love the sister who are assigned to me. I learn some christ-like attributes from visiting teaching, such as kindess, faithfulness, sacrifice, and courage. I made an decision when I was a young woman to serve a full time mission. I prepared myself to be a worthy missionary physically, financially, and spiritually. I got my mission call to England Leeds Mission in May and will report to England Missionary Training Center in August 9. I will do my best in the mission field to bring the children of God unto Christ.
