Hi I'm Denae Boudreaux

I'm a missionary, I'm an elementary education major, I love to play basketball and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the youngest of 6 kids. I grew up in a home where we were very active playing all sorts of sports. I love to play the piano. I can sit and read a good book all day long until I finish the whole thing if I have the time to. I love to be busy and active doing many different activities. My favorite sport is basketball and I am a huge Utah Jazz fan. I love to watch movies and just sit around and talk with friends. I was going to school to be a kindergarten teacher and I am secretly only 5 years old on the inside :) I will return to my degree after my break to serve a mission. I enjoy coloring in my princess coloring book on a weekly basis. I love to laugh and just act silly because life is too stressful to be serious all of the time. I love my big family and I hope to have one just as big of my own one day. I have recently been called to serve as a full time missionary in the Rapid City, South Dakota mission. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to go out and invite others to come unto Christ and recieve of his gospel. I am thankful for the hope and love that I feel as a memeber of this Church and how it blesses me in every single aspect of my life. I am leaving my family to serve for 18 months so that I can help others be with their families for the rest of the eternities. I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this gospel but there have been many different times in my life where I could have easily given it up and said that I didn't want to do it anymore.I considered a life in this gospel of Jesus Christ and a life without it. My conclusion was that to be truly happy I needed this gospel. This gospel teaches me to be the best person I can be, and at the same time acknowledging that I'm not perfect. That yes, I will make mistakes in this life but that there is always a way to come back. I can learn from my mistakes rather than let them define who I am as a person. I am a Mormon because I took the time to carefully read and ponder the Book of Mormon and then kneel down and ask my Heavenly Father through prayer if it was true. He answered my prayer and I know with all of my heart that it is true. I know that our Father in heaven and his son want to help us and comfort us through this life and all we need to do is ask for their help. I have felt both my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ love for me. It's been at the lowest times in my life when I am going through the hardest situations that I have felt this love. Finally I choose to be Mormon because it brings me hope in my life. This world we live in today can be a very dark and scary place but I find hope through my Savior Jesus Christ every single day. His gospel gives me something to hold onto no matter what life throws my way.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every Sunday for the 3 hour block. I am a young single adult so before leaving to serve my mission I would attend what's called Family Home Evening or FHE with the other young single adults in my area. At FHE we do a plethora of different things. Sometimes we do an act of service for someone in the community. Other times we do some sort of game or activity. It's all about coming together as friends and church members to uplift one another in any way that we can. It's also a great way to make good friends who have the same standards. It's a great environment to have good clean fun. In the past I have had the opportunity to plan lessons to teach the other sisters in my ward. I participate in what's called visiting teaching which means that I have two other girls that I go and visit every month just to check in on them and see how they are doing and to see if there is anything that I can help them out with. I have been able to create real lasting friendships with the girls I visit that I may not have made had I not been assigned as their visiting teacher. I regularly attend the temple which I feel brings a great peace to my life. I try and be happy and friendly to any person I come in contact with. I live my faith by how I treat the other people around me, which is by doing my best to treat them like the son or daughter of God I know them to be. Currently I am serving as a full time missionary and I love every minute of it!

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Denae Boudreaux
Mormon woman are strong faithful woman who work to be the best people they can be every day. There absolutely is equality among men and woman in the sense that God loves them both the same. There are different responsibilities given to men and woman in this life. It's not that men are better than woman or the other way around but simply that we have different abilities and strengths. Woman are in no way inferior to men in the LDS church. Woman have the same opportunities to return to live with our Heavenly Father that man have, which is the ultimate goal of this life. It's not a matter of one being better than the other it's more about them both having different jobs they need to do. It's the man's job to provide physically for his family and it is a woman's job to nurture their children and create a positive home environment. Both parents are responsible for the raising of their children. It's about being a family, all of them together. Show more Show less
