Hi I'm Leigh Mulliner

I'm a Deaf Studies major at UVU and currently serving a full time mission on Temple Square in SLC Utah, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a full time missionary in the Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission. Part of my mission I served in San Fernando, CA. Before my mission I was going to school at UVU studying sign language. I grew up a member of the Church and read the Book of Mormon for the first time when I was 12 years old. Throughout my life I've continued to read the scriptures and have learned better what God's purpose and plan for me is. The Book of Mormon is definitely a foundation for my testimony. I have had confirmations of it's truthfulness each time I prayerfully read its pages and apply it to my current situation in life. I've learned that God speaks to us through the scriptures if we really ponder them. Personal revelation is available to everyone and I love it when I receive answers to my prayers. I know God is there and knows me personally.

Why I am a Mormon

My Savior, Jesus Christ, gave His life for me. I want to give my life to Him and do all I can to be His hands here on earth. He has blessed me with loving parents who have taught me to love and serve. He has blessed me with a strong desire to do His will, whatever that may be. I know my Heavenly Father watches over all His children and that it is usually through others that He meets our needs. We all have struggles, it's part of life. It is our responsibility to take care of each other. We may not know what others around us have experienced in terms of sorrow, pain, loneliness, loss, heartache, or other difficulties. He is the only one who knows our quiet pains. I know what I've gone through has brought me closer to my Savior and I'm grateful for those times I've felt far away from Him so that I can better recognize those times I feel close to Him.

How I live my faith

Service has brought many happy moments for me and I get a thrill out of making people smile. Most often I've found that we don't have to go far to find service opportunities. Service really starts with those closest to us. As we serve them, the Lord finds others we can help and our love for His children expands. I am currently serving a mission in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple Square Mission teaching in American Sign Language. This is one way I've found I can serve my Heavenly Father and His children and has brought me so much joy in my life.
