Hi I'm Alysann Flower

I'm a 17 year old who has grown up in Salt Lake City my whole life. The church has made me who I am. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 17 year old girl. I've grown up my whole life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm going to be a senior this coming year. I'm so excited because I love going to school to see my friends and to learn. When I grow up I want to be a nurse. I know that so many people want to be one but only a few ever get there. I've been working so hard to make that dream of mine come true. I also love to play sports. I play water polo, soccer, and I swim. Sports have taught me how to work with others, to work hard, and to never give up no matter what. I also have a missionary out serving in the field right now in Guatemala. His example to me is so amazing and he has helped me to grow so much in the gospel as well as in the church. He is such an important part of my life. With the strength from him and from my family, friends, and my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ aI have gone through many testing trials that have made me who I am. I love life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of the feeling I get when I learn about the church and when I know that Heavenly Father is there for me. When I am doing what I know what is right I feel that there is a light in my life that is only there when I'm living my standards. My grandpa once told me after I had talked to his stake president, their mission president, and someone from the 70 that they all just gravitated towards me because of the light that I give off. That light is the light of Christ. He gives it to me to help others to realize what the church and the Lord can do for you. I feel that my faith and my church have helped to keep me on the right path to once again living with my Heavenly Father for eternity. I know that I can be eternally sealed to my family for forever through marriage in the temple. That is one of the most exciting feelings. To be able to live with the ones who have loved you your whole life for eternity. I know the scriptures are true. This has been shown to me many times over and over again. The scriptures are always there for you when you feel lost and confused. I know that prayer is a way that you speak to your Heavenly Father and know matter what he will always listen and be there for you. There have been many times that I have just knelt down and had heartfelt conversations with my Heavenly Father. I know he loves me and wants me to always try to be my best and try to bring others unto him and Christ. Being a Mormon has been my life and I love that this is the life I live. I will strive for the rest of my life to teach others the gospel and to spread the joy that this religion has brought me.

How I live my faith

I am the laurel president in my ward. At times I feel it is a really big responsibility, but it has taught me a lot. I have learned that every young woman and young man on this earth are all amazing in Heavenly Father's eyes. Everyone has their own unique traits that make them who they are and we must learn to love them as they are. We do this because Heavenly Father has said to. My faith in the LDS religion has made me who I am. I don't just do things because others are doing them, like dressing immodestly, doing drugs, and just not living the way we should. My faith has given me courage to not be ashamed of who I am and what I believe. When I found out I had arthritis, my Heavenly Father was the one who was there for me the whole time. With him there he got me through the trials that came with the arthritis and still is to this day. That whole trial brought me closer to my Heavenly Father and my faith. Also I go to seminary. It's a nice get a way from the world where I'm able to just focus on the church. Seminary is where I really came to gain a testimony of the church. We were reading in Daniel 1:8 and that is where Daniel proposes that he won't defile himself just because the King wants him to. While learning about that I wrote in my scriptures 'Don't go against who you know you are. Do what you know is right and you will be blessed.' The church, the scriptures, my leaders, and my faith have all taught me to come to know that this is true. As I rely on my religion to guide my life, I am blessed. My Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have always been here for me and will always and forever continue to be here for me.
